Guess they have run out of real news again.
No, they're doing it just for you, the only guy still interested. It's real news if you really read it, even realer if you comment.

Because the mayor being an alleged drug addict who has allegedly surrounded himself with unsavory characters drawn from his family's alleged involvement in the drug trade is not news?
Fixed your post Fuji...

BTW, how many "families" is Rob Ford a part of? :p

Sure reads like Heinlein to me, but I couldn't find anything close on his quotes page.
Funny that you mention that. 'twas my first instinct to look to Heinlen too, but no luck. There was a forum or two that mentioned K.S. Robinson as the author in question, but you know what forums are like, what with all the know-it-all-know-nothings, trolls, liars, and dumbshits.

...errr, except TERB of course. We're all civilized and erudite motherfuckers here. Every last one :)

For the people that sat around watching CP24 all day waiting for the big news on Ford that would finish him off, what happened?

Lady blames Ford for bike accident

She was on NewTalk1010, complaining about Ford. She was riding her bike in the left lane close to the curb and came up on cars stopped at the light, with some cars turning right. There was not enough room for her to pass the stopped cars on the right, so she maneuvered in between the stopped cars to pass them on the left. Her tire got caught in a street car rail and she fell. Is Ford's fault.

Does the Star have a video of this as well? Sorry, my bad, they don't seem to have a certain other video they claim to have seen either...

LMFAO!

I'm more apt to call it "natural selection". Dumb bitch! WTF is wrong with people these days when NO ONE takes responsibility for their own actions. (In this case her own idiocy!)

She's got no one to blame but herself.

Thanks for including the link which seems to give a pretty full account of the story but never describes her blaming Ford or being on the phone-in.

Where did you get all that other stuff from?

Seeing as source reliability, jumping from mere allegations to fullout conclusions and character assassination is such an important part of this thread, what's your evidence for judging this woman is a "…dumb bitch" who "…takes no responsibility for…her own idiocy"? Until KBear responds do we put you down as going by unnamed sources in some unverified hearsay?

Just to show us how it's done, I'm sure.

There is a link in the article to her blog. http://www.mediacoop.ca/blog/taylor-flook/18826 You might have missed it, as you might not see it as her blaming Ford for her own carelessness, as it is all Ford's fault in your mind.

She was talking on NewsTalk1010, there is no link.

She is some sort of activist, and was able to turn something stupid she did into lemon aid. Getting her name on more blogs, and on the radio. Got to wonder if she believes what she is saying, or just saying stuff about Ford to get the publicity.

By her own admission, she made an illegal maneuver on her bike, between 2 rows of vehicles, got her tire stuck in a street rail and went ass over teakettle.

The "dumb bitch" comment was in response to her illegal maneuver... as a cycling enthusiast myself, I know that I always take my life into my hands while sharing the road with cars, so I always err on the side of safety. Threading a bicycle between 2 rows of vehicles is not only really REALLY dumb, it is illegal. She SHOULD have waited for the cars turning right to clear the way before approaching the intersection.

The "dumb bitch" comment was further confirmed, when she failed to realize that tires can and do get caught in those ruts, so one needs to allow for that and stear accordingly.

The "takes no responsibility for her own actions" comment was, I though rather clear and evident, since she's trying to blame the accident on road conditions rather than her own stupidity and lack of riding skills.

A nice concise description of the free market system. Aren't we supposed to believe it is A Good Thing?

Somewhere down the list of fringe candidates surely we must get to people who truly are running for noble ideals, high purposes and the common good. But instead of researching and finding and supporting such people to put them in office, we sneer at their naivete, demean their motives and ignore them for having no bandwagon.

When we pick, we let partisanship and groupthink blind us to their faults and make us oblivious or dismissive to the achievements of others. We demand they be instantly and always accessible and responsive to whatever latest hysteria we're pumping each other up with and then blame them for creating it. The last thing we look at are the pages and pages of real facts and figures that determine what might be a good plan for the City. And we never ever listen to someone because they did, unless they've wearing our label. Who but a fool would want such a job, unless they saw gold somewhere in the shitstorm?

In that world an self-involved sociopathic clown like Rob really was the best choice, though not for the City or its citizens. You and I may not have supported or voted for him, but disdain for all politicians and passive acceptance of such abysmal performance is why you, I—and all of us—got him. And he's thriving personally.

We could begin in a very small way by constantly reminding ourselves and everyone that government is a calling and a collaboration not a paying business, and that unless we are insane enough to think none at all is an option, it's gonna cost us. So let's look for good people to run it well, not vote for the guy who promises the cheapest job.

If you're the kinda guy who takes the lowest bid roofer by reflex, you won't understand the point, but I'm thinkin' ridgeman means you're wise enough to select and pay for a quality job to keep you snug, warm and dry.

We put Rob in the chair; he's our fault. Let's do better.

The issue with government is that you never know if they have actually done a good job or not. With a roofer, it is quite easy to test their work.
Combine that with the fact that the "opposition" goes out of their way to spin anything the government does as negative. People are so entrenched in being "left" or "right"
"liberal" or "conservative" that they refuse to see the big picture (this includes you with your views on Rob Ford). It seems to me that for most politicians their "job" is
getting themselves re-elected.

Rob Ford is and is not our fault. The problems at city hall are not all Rob Fords fault. City hall is completely screwed up, our provincial government is also completely screwed.

It seems to me that most levels of our government spend their time pissing away our money, and then making excuses.

To be clear, her accusation against Ford is that he prevents the creation of bike lanes that would have enabled her to ride in safety.

And that's true.

That's not true at all.

There is no safe bike riding on the road if she decides to break the rules and cut in and around cars. She is blaming her accident that she caused on every one but herself.

She accuses Ford of much more then that, you just cant see it.

There are more bike lanes in Toronto now since Ford has become mayor.

She accused Ford of opposing safety for cyclists in opposing bike lanes. She says he is hateful trying to turn cyclists and drivers against each other with this war on car notion. She says that the lack of bike lanes contributed to her accident.

It is all true.

Again you are spewing shit.

The ONLY reason she got into an accident is her own stupidity! Having more bike lanes won't do shit for bike safety unless cyclists AND motorists learn to coexist!

Fugi is pissed again because he got all excited thinking he could finally pass out that big pile of crow he has been sitting on for the last few months. Who knows, the video of Ford smoking pot may surface someday.

Here are some of the facts, indisputable I think:

She was not riding in a bike lane.

Had she been in a bike lane she would not have been in an accident with a car.

One reason why she was not in a bike lane is that Rob Ford opposed bike lanes.
