How do you know they didn't confront him?

The Star has confronted Ford numerous times on numerous issues. It is his policy never to respond to them. It would not be news if they confronted him and yet again he ignored them.

Another possibility is that their legal team had not yet vetted the story. Due to the sensitive nature of these allegations they review everything they print with legal to make sure it can be defended in court.

The stories are often heavily edited the night before publication to ensure they don't say something they can't back up with documented evidence, statements, etc.

I am still waiting for answer on my post:-
Oh for Chrissakes. I GAVE you a fucking answer: news ain't gonna wait. I even threw you a bone about how it can sometimes result in some striking errors. They had the article in the pipe and Ford gave them nothing worth the last-minute add.

I know because:-

1) The Friday article confirmed "Ford has not responded to questions about this sent by the Star",

2) The Star did not report, during the 8-hour fishing tour the day before, Rob Ford refusing to comment on "Allegations soon to be published" on this Lisi connection or any matter.

3) No other media reporting any confrontation between the Star and Rob Ford during the eight hours on that fishing boat

The Star had Ford captive and both knew it.

Just surprised the Star wasted 8 hours not to "fish" any confirmations or denials for the article they knew they were going to publish while claiming "Ford has not responded to questions about this sent by the Star"

Which sounds exactly like that have been asking him and he has been refusing to answer the questions, which is what he always does.

2) The Star did not report, during the 8-hour fishing tour the day before, Rob Ford refusing to comment on "Allegations soon to be published" on this Lisi connection or any matter.
Why would they? In my entire life I have never seen anyone report like that!

3) No other media reporting any confrontation between the Star and Rob Ford during the eight hours on that fishing boat
Again, why would they?

"Rob Ford again today, as on every other day, refused to answer a question."

Not exactly headline news there boodog.

You are aware that some things on the internet can be like writings on a bathroom wall? 146 Pages of this, and I still have to clarify the issue on hand?
Seriously?? The issue if not necessarily about whether the video actually exists or not, if the video is real or not. It is about pronouncing a person guilty based on evidence that has not shown up yet, and is only verified by a few people. Sending me this link is just more of the same.

Unfortunately, if the video does exist, and the police have it, we will not have real proof that it exists until it is brought out in court.

Nobody is pronouncing him guilty.

Whenever anyone criticizes your snarling darling you pretend that is tantamount to locking him up in jail, and demand proof beyond a reasonable doubt before you believe a word of it.

By that standard you should never read another newspaper, documentary, tv newscast, magazine, or even scholarly historical article. None of them, not even the scholarly article, meet the standard of proof required in court to prove guilt.

Nobody said he was guilty. We just think he is a lying crack addict with deep personal connections to gangs.

As you can see the Star claimed they have to use unnamed source(s) because "Ford has not responded to questions about this sent by the Star",

my question is

The Star was out on the Salmon Express II fishing boat off Port Credit Thursday where for eight hours, the Star had the pleasure of being in the company of Ford, Mississauga’s Hazel McCallion and Veteran Affairs’ Minister Julian Fantino.

Truth is, The Star had Ford captive and both knew it. Why not confronted him with the questions on Thursday before published the article on Friday?
Are you talking about this article in the Star on Friday? The one that describes a video because there was no one from the Star there to witness the events first-hand?

Rob Ford saves Hazel McCallion — and helps her land a big fish

A video
shows Rob Ford giving Hurricane Hazel a helping hug as she reels in a salmon in the Great Ontario Salmon Derby.

By: Alyshah Hasham News reporter, Published on Fri Aug 16 2013

The salmon never had a chance.

On the other end of the line, Mississauga Mayor Hazel McCallion had the fishing rod in a steely grip.

And holding her just as tightly was Toronto Mayor Rob Ford.

Ford stepped in to save the day after the tiny 92-year-old was nearly yanked into the waters by the big fish during the Great Ontario Salmon Derby.

“Mayor, hold the mayor,” someone hollers in a YouTube video of the dramatic catch on Thursday taken by Canadian Sportfishing Television host Italo Labignan.

No one from the Star questioned Ford on the boat because no one from the Star was on the boat
. So the real questions are:
Do you believe the Star based on their description of a video this time, but not the Star's description of the video of Ford smoking what appears to be crack in what appears to be a crack pipe?
and
Who the hell wears a jacket and tie to go fishing?!

I friggin SWEAR that the reason why this is more difficult than it is, is that organized crime is involved.
let's just say I know Robbie has showed up at certain weddings to drop off envelopes....

It will all come out eventually and I cannot wait.

Possibly playing with fire there Jennifer. Then again some things are just hidden in plain sight.
After what went down in Montreal we should be bracing ourselves. Municipal politics attracts crime like fleas on a stray dog.

There is a LOT of money at stake, lots of infrastructure projects, lots of big developments looking for an easy ride through zoning variances, permits, and code inspections.

If you look, pretty much all councillors get big campaign cheques from developers. Left wing, right wing, developers are always their biggest campaign contributors. It is not hard to imagine a few dollars greasing the wheels, and since it is municipal there is not a lot of scrutiny.

Bluntly, it would not surprise me if it turns out the entire council is dirty so it would not surprise me at all to find out that the mayor is in deep with organized crime. Sure would explain why so many career criminals like Lisi have jobs in his office.

Where did boo from Scarborough go? Seems the light of truth made him run away like a cockroach but he owes The Star an apology for his ridiculous accusations.

In today's news...Dave Price. Ford put him on "suspension" for being a hothead (how professional, right?) and here's an earlier instance of his lack of anger management.

The Toronto Sun said:
Ford Staffer Furious!

A Mayor Rob Ford staffer was left “furious” after coming up in a Globe and Mail story about Councillor Doug Ford’s alleged drug dealing past.

David Price, the mayor’s director of logistics and operations, fired off an angry e-mail on May 25 — the same day the Globe published a story about the Ford family’s alleged history with drugs that included details about Price himself.

In a media blitz immediately after the story hit the newsstands, Ford denied he was involved in the drug trade. An e-mail obtained by the Sun — with the subject line “And I thought Friday was a tough day ...” — features Price blasting the Globe story as “an absolute hatchet job”.

A paper copy of the e-mail only contained Price as both the author and recipient of the document but a source confirmed the e-mail — which Price marked as “proprietary” — was sent to several staffers in the mayor’s office at the time.

Price starts off outlining the Globe story entitled, “Globe investigation: The Ford family’s history with drug dealing,” as he sees it.

“(The story) which alleges amongst other b-------, gossip, and innuendo that I was a ‘hash dealer’ 25-30 years ago (in my teens), according to four unnamed drug dealers who described me as a ‘participant’ in Councillor Doug Ford’s (made up) hash business,” Price wrote.

“This ‘alleged’ piece of journalism is 100% fabrication and pure unadulterated b-------! Not true!”
Of course Ford's Director of Something and Something Else We Made Up, can't even write an email without ranting raving and swearing. But my favourite part of this article is at the end.
Minutes after the Sun asked Price about the Globe e-mail, the mayor’s spokesman Sunny Petrujkic e-mailed the Sun asking that media requests not be sent to mayor’s office staff and only directed to him and another spokesman.

In a separate e-mail, Petrujkic said he hadn’t seen Price’s missive before Monday. He pointed out the copy provided by the Sun only showed Price’s name as a recipient.

“E-mail appears to be written on Saturday, on his own personal time and the e-mail was sent to himself,” Petrujkic wrote. “I don’t understand what your story is about.”
Reminds me of Nathan Thurm, another one with the job of trying to defend the indefensible.

Some of them.. The Sun blinked.
Speaking of the Sun, the Ontario Press Council is going to hold hearings due to a complaint from someone about stories concerning Ford in the Star and the Globe.
The council said in its hearing notice that it will consider whether The Globe and Mail and the Toronto Star have “engaged in irresponsibly, unethical investigative reporting” in coverage of the Ford family...

The Ontario Press Council is an independent agency that considers complaints against 150 member news organizations. It has considered more than 4,000 complaints since its founding in 1972, and says it has ruled approximately 50 per cent of the time in favour of complainants. If a panel sides with a complaint, the news organization must publish the ruling unedited.
Looking further into this I learned that Sun Media quit the OPC in 2011 so that they would not need to be fair or balanced or held to any professional standard of news reporting at all, and could freely act as the propaganda tool for right wing interests.
