Thanks for proving my point so quickly, Pornaddict.

Though I am depressed how many people still think Ford is saving them money when its so clear he's wasting it, raising taxes, using city resources on his old football hobby, wasting hundreds of millions on idiotic transit plans...
Idiotic transit plans? That's your POV, but even liberal by-election candidates and some of Ford's own municipal, counsel foes have touted them as a feather in their hat.

What plan? Does Ford have a plan yet?

They're was a big press release a few weeks back but it turned out that the city hadn't done its sums properly.

So is there a plan?

I think Ford's plan is to stall for time, make various proclamations about subways, use them to derail other projects, do nothing. He hates transit. He doesn't actually want subways either, he just wanted to cancel the LRT.

Newspapers use unnamed sources all the time. Hoping that the story isn't true because you personally don't know the name of the source is absurd.

Delusional.
Unnamed high-ranking police official reported the police were investigating the video but the named police source confirmed the raid had nothing to do with video.

Do you prefer the unnamed source because you dislike Rob Ford?

I am sure the raid had nothing to do with the video. Ford is obviously not the subject of the investigation.

He is just getting peripherally involved because he had surrounded himself with drug dealers and gangland criminals, and his drug dealer and favorite crack house are now being investigated.

Ford is not a criminal. He is just a crack head, not one of the dealers they are after.

I think both are accurate.

Both..........?

Now what do you think about this:-

On another note, the Toronto Star is reporting that Rob Ford sexually assaulted Hazel McCallion yesterday.
Fuji claims there is video evidence, but no one has watched the video because they are afraid they might see
Rob Ford or Hazel McCallion naked.

"If its not rough it isn't fun", Fuji said.

People are still here defending Ford? Amazing.

The police investigating the video and the raid having nothing to do with the video are not mutually exclusive. The raid may well have nothing to do with the video, but the police could still be investigating the video, apart from the drug raid. The drug raid took place as a result of an investigation into illegal drugs and arms sales that lasted about 1 year. The existence of the video only became known a few short months ago.

Here is the real everyday Rob Ford, the next door guy:-

Fishin' with Ford
After months of silence, the mayor opens up to our Joe

joe-warmington BY JOE WARMINGTON ,TORONTO SUN
FIRST POSTED: FRIDAY, AUGUST 16, 2013 10:50 PM EDT

Welcome to Mayor Rob Ford’s world.

“Imagine a life where you can’t even have a cold one every once in a while,” he said with a chuckle, in his first wide-ranging discussion with a media person since the alleged crack video scandal surfaced in May.

etc etc etc hurr durrr
Must've been tough to type that out with Ford's cock so deep in his mouth the whole time.

I think you are referring this following article which, I believe, is very Rob Ford friendly in content:-
http://www.torontosun.com/2013/08/02...d+crack+video+
Now that I reread it, I see your point. The first time I read it, I interpreted the lines you highlighted are there to state that those things have not been proven. I was just surprised that Sun would use that title and also jumped on the bandwagon when the usual pro Ford stance is to treat as if nothing happened.

Yup. I think the raid had nothing to do with the video. They are trying to dismantle a drug dealing organized crime group. They want the dealers and the smugglers.

I do think they are separately looking into the video, but I think they are looking at it to see if it provides any clues that could help prosecute a dealer.

I don't think they are interested in Ford at all. Why should they be? He is just a crack head. At worst they may use him as a witness against his dealer.

The problem for Ford is this investigation is talking down the organized crime group that was selling him his drugs, and so as it progresses it is going to implicate him I ways that don't make him criminal, but are highly damaging to his political career.

He just doesn't 'claim'. He has and he tries, unlike his predecessors.

Not good though for Ford to cohort with certain of these guys but I wonder who the Star would've found Miller with if they tried. Militant unionists? Environmental Nazi wackos? Anti-TPS anarchists?
No, he raised taxes, just like his predecessors.
His 'successes' are few and trifling, more so in context of $113 million he's wasted on transit just on cancellation fees alone.
And his subway plan could and probably will leave the city with another $400 million in debt with less transit, with 30 years of debt payment for 3 more transit stops.
That's idiotic.

It's not just The Star. The Globe and Mail published pretty much the same things:
http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news...out-alleged-video/article13829088/?cmpid=rss1

The Globe is reporting that Ford visits the Lisi home sometimes 4 nights in a row ( presumably to party ?)
The long reveal is pretty entertaining.
Ford visits one high school, crack head friend in jail, or tries to, and avoids answering to that one.
Now it looks like they've narrowed down the two enablers at the office, I assume it must be getting pretty hard for Ford to score now.

I get around.
Right Wing Tabloid Attacks Mayor With Problems! Read all about it!!!

The Sun is also leveling some criticism at the crack smoking alcoholic mayor.
http://www.torontosun.com/2013/08/16/rob-ford-the-good-the-bad-and-the-ugly
...but we don’t endorse his antics like showing up at The Taste of the Danforth, apparently three sheets to the wind, the latest in a long line of public embarrassments that indicate he may have a drinking problem.

For that, he should get help. And if he has a drug problem, as the Toronto Star has alleged, he needs to get help for that, as well.

Being a big-city mayor is a 24/7 job requiring good judgment and common sense.

When Ford behaves like a raging bull, he not only becomes an embarrassment to himself and the city he serves, he detracts from his political effectiveness and his ability to get his agenda through at city hall.

Ford has repeatedly received sound advice from his political allies and advisors that he has chosen to ignore.

They told him not to leave his duties at City Hall in mid-day to coach his high school football team, and he did it anyway.

They told him to hire a driver for his own and the public’s safety — given his propensity for driving while distracted — and he refused.

And they’ve told him that when you’re attending public events like the Taste of the Danforth, the appropriate beverage is soda pop, or ONE beer.

A smart politician learns from his mistakes. He doesn’t revel in them.

This was a great article, and more importantly, it is showing that The Sun has matured as a newspaper.
In fact the Sun has had many articles of this type over the past few weeks that have offered a balanced
view of Rob Ford.

Never thought I would see the day when I would say that the Sun is doing a better job of reporting than the Star.

I think the phrase is rats leaving a sinking ship. People who were supporting Ford are beginning to see that they will soon fall into the abyss with him if they don't step back.

Nobody wants to be linked to a guy who seems likely to have serious drug addictions and deep personal connections to gang violence and drug crime.

What Fuji said.

Normally, the Sun and the Star tag-team the Ford issue. The Sun takes the pro Ford angle and the Star baits him. They ding-dong back and fore, escalate the rhetoric, keep the citizens interested and hyped and they both help each other make a fuck-load of $$$ off the guy and his endless fuck-ups. But now the shit is starting to get too embarrassing. And it'll get worse once the video leaks out of some lawyer's office and gets played publicly.

As a result, the Sun has to write a few scold-y articles about Robby right now, so it can yank em out of the archive when Ford truly goes down hard and claim it knew all along he was a fuck head. If he (somehow!!!) survives, the scold-y articles will be long forgotten and the Sun will return to cheerleading him.

It's how newspapers do business, folks. You heard it from Oagre first.

Actually, the Star and the Globe researched, interviewed (or tried to talk to) some people, and did investigative journalism. The Sun editorial is not "reporting" at all, it's just an opinion piece which seems to be saying "stop being such an asshole and get professional help for your addictions."
