Glad to see that the reaction has a fair amount of traction and will result in at least a thorough review. The police need their leashes yanked every once in awhile so that they are reminded that they are not above the laws they enforce.
At least I can agree with the last bit; 10 round magazines for all cops and total compliance with the useless Firearms Act.

are there people really think he shouldn't have been shot? if you wake up and pack a knife as part of your day and thrn have the stupidity to pull it out..... you shouod be shot. How long do you think this arsehole would have on a bus in Texas if he pulled that s***?

Which video shows him " attempting to run down the stairs at Police " and " start to walk down the stairs "?

Does that even matter? Anyone who walks within 30 feet of a cop with a knife and called him a p**** should be shot. Thats pretty much the end of the story. wtf is wrong with some of you people?

Something else to consider:

Let's say the cops set all things aside and negotiate with this guy.

Then all the nut-cases come crawling out of the woodwork and bring the city to a stand-still while each one stages his own personal coup d'etat

That is one of the dumbest arguments I have ever seen. Whatever the negotiation, the kid would have been charged and there would be judicial penalties levied.

Have you considered that he was likely in some mental distress? I haven't seen anyone here suggest that the cops should have put their lives in danger but there seem to have been several errors in the way the police handled this.

I wont call him a leech .. but yea .. when I have a bad day I yell, punch the wall .. maybe even stomp my feet ... but I don't think I ever wanted to go on a bus and pull it out telling everyone to get off or they will die.... so if you bad day sounds like that then .......
So what if the neighbors complain and they show up and shoot you..ok I suppose?

So what, still no reason to execute the kid in public. Maybe he was mentally ill. You frequent escorts, some people would consider you even worse then him. It never fails to amaze me that people are on this board and in this hobby and can be so judgemental on misbehavior by other.
Proof you don't pay attention and just prattle on. As for being judgement, said early we know so little about what actually happened, yet you're judging the cop big time.

Like I said... model citizen. On his way to Sunday School and/ or choir practice.

Should the cop have shot him 9 times? Probably not... but we don't know the facts. (Maybe while he was down, he was reaching inside his coat for something and the cop figured it was a concealed weapon... who knows...)

What I DO know, is that someone with attitude, (his Facebook is dripping with attitude), and waving a knife around and ignoring authority, is looking for trouble.

Is the cop justified? Who knows... we'll find out for sure in the coming weeks. Maybe he had issues too. But to lambast the entire police force, for the actions of one officer, is a bit much dontcha think?

Play with fire... you're gonna get burned.

Nothing illegal about carrying a knife, as long as its in plain view. And many people practice martial arts. Does that mean that they are all somehow unstable?
You must have missed the part where he exposed himself on the bus, not normal or legal.

I agree. But since it only takes one cop "with issues" to kill perhaps we need to reconsider the policy of allowing regular duty officers to carry side arms.

Perhaps only senior officers should carry a gun, to weed out the ones "with issues".

Of course it's not normal behaviour to expose yourself in public. But I think it shows the state of mind SY was in and that something was clearly wrong with him mentally.
What we don't know is when the cops found out about the exposure. There is so much not known, out side the short video by a citizen reporter, yet the usual herd of gnus has the cops hung drawn and quartered.

But only if we can limit all the criminals and lunatics from carrying weapons first.

(Brilliant plan! LoL!)

What else would you call his remarks? So the more posts you have and the longer you've been a member means exactly what? That somehow you're opinion is more important than mine? Judging by the amount of posts you have, you probably think your opinion has more merit and is universally respected among members, which is clearly not the case.
It does mean you have some idea what some members post on various subjects of a longer period of time, providing you can remember more than what you had for breakfast this morning. Even your comment about me is so wrong, as I've said more than once, you can't be liked by everyone. You are going to be such entertainment on here, welcome board.

If a criminal or lunatic is armed there will be a massive police presence on the scene including many senior officers.

Officers are in fact trained to back off and wait for overwhelming force in these cases anyway.

Perhaps one in four would be carrying, those who had been promoted for years of good service works be trusted.

If this guy was such an imminent threat as many of you suggest, then why only the lethal response from that one officer? Surely if the other officers felt threaten or the public safety was in jeopardy, then shouldn't they have responded with their guns drawn like the officer who fired the shots.
Have you watched the video????

At least 3 officers had guns drawn and trained on the assailant. Are you suggesting all the police officers should have opened fire? :frusty: (That certainly would satisfy the "cops are gun toting menaces terrorizing our streets" crowd!)
