Two B.C. residents have been charged in an alleged al-Qaeda-inspired Canada Day terror plot that involved pressure cooker bombs similar to the ones used in the Boston Marathon bombings.
This picture of John Nuttall was posted on an online music website. (Reverbnation)

Amanda Marie Korody, 30, and John Stewart Nuttall, 39, both of Surrey, B.C., have each been charged with conspiracy to commit an indictable offence, knowingly facilitating a terrorist activity and possession of an explosive substance.

They were arrested Monday and are accused of building explosive devices with the "purpose of causing death or serious bodily injuries," which were placed outside the B.C. legislature in Victoria on Canada Day.

The article doesn't explain how the threat was detected. If the means employed violated the privacy of these two suspects, then the charges should be dropped. Just being sarcastic. Don't go apeshit on me.

Just guessing that the RCMP trolled them. One report said the RCMP were in control of the bombs at all time.

Maybe an RCMP officer posed as a collaborator on a jihadi site.

This would be the same way most people who have a killer for hire shingle out are actually officers hoping to arrest a jilted spouse who thinks s/he is hiring a hit nan.

Just a guess though not much information out there yet.

Sometimes the means justify the ends. Sometimes an ape goes apeshit! LOL

These home grown terror plots are becoming so common, I fear that sooner or later, one will succeed. I wonder if the increasing wealth disparity in society is to blame. There are a lot of poor young people out there, and as they say, idle hands are the devils workshop.

Al Qaeda is actively promoting this as the way forward now that their own operating capability has been thoroughly infiltrated by Muslim nation spy agencies.

Presumably you have a different meaning for "trolled" than "entrapped."
Sure. There is a fine line. In this case my guess is they were actually trolled, as in, took the bait posted on an internet forum and contacted an officer posing as a jihadi.

Again. Just a guess.

I think it's more an increasing feeling by many of a lack of belonging and a sense of community in one's local area. As people move all over the world with relative ease, they end up feeling lost. Even people who have never moved anywhere get a sense of detachment and yearn for a purpose. With the internet, both people who are far from "home" and those who have no sense of belonging now can "virtually" connect to something that gives them a sense of belonging or purpose. With jihadists being so fervent and decisive about their goals, lost people connect to that and forget that violence, especially indiscriminate violence, is a psycho path.
They could choose more constructive communities, whether it be a peaceful church, mosque, etc., find a sport, do something...join a community like terb!

I guess it depends how much of the plot came from the terrorists and how much actually was suggested, encouraged and enabled by the feds. Maybe they found a randon internet ranter and turned him into a terrorist?
