of a random act of ...Kindness!!
I'm usually the perpetrator of these types of crimes....buying coffees to unsuspecting guys/girls behind me at Timmies...or..buying some little old ladies groceries for her when she didn't have enough money, a round of ice cream for the neighbourhood kids when the Dickie Dee guy rolls by,.. but this is the first time someone actually bought for me.....went to pay at the timmies window and she told me the lady in front already paid...WTF ( in a good way)..
So to the lady in the Buick Thank you, you made my day,
that extra large regular went down especially nice yesterday...NOW I know why I do it...cus both of us feel good ...afterwards.. :)

Too bad the lady in the Buick, didn't go "down especially nice"... Now that would be an awesome random act of kndness!

I had a young Mom ahead of me in the grocery line a couple of weeks ago... two wailing kids with her (close to dinner time). She was short of cash to pay her bill... I think it was 0.35 of something. I chipped in and you would have thought I'd bought her a Porsche. It left me feeling kinda warm and fuzzy.

It also got me through the line faster... "win/win". :)

I sometimes do the Timmies thing. I hang around just long enough to see the look on the face of the person behind me then speed off.

One day I did it for a lady driving a bug behind me. I didn't get a good look at her but whatever. A couple days later I'm going through the drive through, and when I drive up, I'm told the lady two cars ahead of me bought my coffee! So I scan ahead, I see a woman speeding off in a bug. Ha. So I paid for the joe behind me in a contractor van.

LOL...well I sometimes have alterior motives too( had to be somewhere )...with the old lady at the checkout....she had over $60 in groceries..but only had 60 on her....so she asked the teller to put them aside while she went next door to the TD to get some more cash...so I told the teller...I'll pay for it...she was shocked...are you sure..its $64 and change....I said yeah sure...so I paid for hers and then mine...and the teller wanted my name phone # to give to the lady so she could pay me back...I said no need...and I walked out...
About a week later I saw the same teller again and she says..its you!! and she proceeded to tell me about how the lady reacted when she told her , someone paid for her groceries.....lets just say I had a smile on my face for a few days after that!!!!1felt really good is all I'll say:)

I do this shit all the time too. It feels like it gives a balance to all the crazy shit in the world. I know buying a coffee doesn't balance a war but enough people started to realize that their not alone on the planet and doing something nice could change a persons reaction to the day or week or their outlook on life then it would be a good start.

I mostly get a kick out of it cuz people don't expect it from me or people who look like me.

I always thought transvestites were known for their kindness... ;)

It is surprising how "amazed" people are when you treat them to something worth $1.49. I've often thought that if I won some ginormous lottery, that my new full time job would be wandering around paying random bills for random people, just to see their reactions.

PS: Just funnin' ya, Simon

Well a few months ago. Helped an old lady load up groceries to her car. Gave me a pack of gingerbread (why do they love this). And told me it goes very good with tea. And I always shovel snow for my neighbor who lives alone (old lady).

I use to do the timmies thing but I don't got to tims anymore. I don't do any drive-throughs really, but what I do now is I buy those movie passes at costco, and I take the free pop and popcorn part of the ticket and find the younger people in the theater and give it to them.

I always give my parking passes with time left to others. I even top up a couple I see that are out at the meters when I come and go.

It is those little things that make feel I am doing some good over giving a buck at the metro to the new cause of the week they are supporting.
