Fiddleheads are just finishing up and asparagus is going now.I went grocery shopping this morning. I was really surprised that most of the produce was from China! Apples from China, garlic from China, Smoked Salmon from China! You can't get any good homegrown produce anymore or it's rare and hard to find.
are u shopping at T&T?I can't even find good food imported from California or other parts of the USA. It's all from China now.
Time to shift your investment portfolio to the East a bit.Within 10 years, China will control over 50% of the resource based sector in N. America and is poised to take over the agricultural sector too. The largest pork producer in America, Smithfield will likely be acquired by China this year. Clearly America is on the decline and China is on the upswing although both countries are partners in a mutually assured death dance.
I would much rather take my chances with north american food inspection. I know we've had listeria etc, but there is a world of difference between that kind of issue and some manager deciding to add melamine to baby formula.I'll happily point out that this only means that offenders are caught in China. It doesn't mean that there are no offenders here, just that we don't catch many of them.
Look at how many food inspectors are employed by the province and I'm surprised we catch anyone here at all.
Well. Drive along the highway in China sometime and tell me what you see. They have no concept of zoning.I'll happily point out that this only means that offenders are caught in China.
Yeah, because Chinese health and safety standards are much better than Mexico's. Who knows what they water their crops with.Would you rather have e-coli covered lettuce from Mexico that has been watered from a sewage pit?
