It was an ok episode. I think last weeks would have been better suited as a season finale.

Last weeks episode was too dark, this one sets the stage for many things. I think sadly Shae has signed her death warrant, love will kill you in this show.

Thone?

I guess we are going to get these spoilers weekly until the end of the season.

It use to be SSG's daily, sue do miss them, now it's tv spoilers. Gotta love it.

I loved it, especially Ygritte flinging arrows at JS. Of course the council meeting with little physco Joffrey. Looking forward to next season and maybe, finally, hopefully, seeing a winter of discontent. I want white walkers, war, and more nudity...I could stand to see Ygritte naked one more time...

Not only did she fire 3 arrows at him, she nailed him 3 times. The last one while he was riding away. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. (And where is Eric the Red who survived the attack by the dire wolves?)

Oh, and we finally learn who the guy is that is torturing Theon - the bastard son of Lord Bolton - Ramsay Snow (I don't understand where the fuck this guy came from, or how he came into possession of Theon after Theon was basically deserted at the end of last season by his own kind alone in Winterfell. (Now Winterfell is supposedly in ashes - how did that happen?)

If it follows the books, as it has so far, next season will be very dark with the only "uplifting" story lines coming from the Dragon Momma.

He probably paid theons men for him. Ygritte could have easily killed john...she chose to give him a chance.

Sounds awesome!

And even though I thought it was impossible I kind of feel sorry for Theon, I hate the guy but man, getting your dick cut off like that...But I do like the character of Ramsey, such a sicko.

Things are really going to get interesting next season (I've read the books). Even knowing what is coming, it was still heartbreaking to hear Tywin tell Tyrion he wanted to drown him at birth.
I'm assuming Tywin wanted to drown Tyrion because Tyrion's mother died during his birth. I don't believe that dwarfism can be spotted in a new born.

But yes, tough scene.

Tyrion is one of the more likeable characters on that show.

We did finally get an answer about Theon, although it was only a single line of dialogue, so it's not strange you missed it. At the end of last season, Rob Stark decreed amnesty for any Iron Islanders if they turned over Theon. Last time we saw Theon, he was being dragged off by hisown men . In last night's episode, Roose Bolton told us that Theon had been turned over to his acknowledged bastard son, Ramsay Snow.

I think Martin is deliberately playing with the readers' expectations in this plotline. The normal expectation in a fantasy story is that when someone does something horrible, like Theon did, they're punished. That's what Martin did, but the punishment was much more thorough, and much more detailed, than anyone wanted to see. So Martin is saying: you want to see people punished, well this is what it's like. Still like it? Huh? Huh?

I'm not normally a fan of fantasy, but the way Martin deconstructs the genre makes this show interesting and enjoyable. Plus it's nice to see a medieval fantasy that reminds us that the Middle Ages was a truly horrible time to live.

I haven't read the books, but judging from what characters have said, I think Martin envisaged Tyrion not just as a dwarf, but as more seriously deformed than that. Maybe this wasn't adopted in the show because it would have been visually distracting? Anyway, I'm sure we're intended to believe he was some kind of a freak at birth.

I wonder if Tywin would be so cold and bitter if he hadn't lost his wife. I don't think he remarried...

I think we should also see Maergery naked too...
Jiffy, have you seen the show "Elementary"? Maergery is not naked there, but she is blond and way hotter than she looks playing Maergery. (Although Maergery is the better character - "Elementary" is not a good show.) Anyway, she plays Irene Adler in the two hour season finale.
