Two senior staffers quit Mayor Rob Ford’s office in latest turmoil to hit Toronto city hall

http://news.nationalpost.com/2013/0...e-in-latest-turmoil-to-hit-toronto-city-hall/

Two senior staffers have quit Toronto Mayor Rob Ford’s office as the crisis at City Hall appears to show no sign of abating.

Press Secretary George Christopoulos and deputy press secretary Isaac Ransom left “on principle,” the CBC reports. Security were spotted in the mayor’s office in the early afternoon.

The resignations come days after Ford fired his chief of staff Mark Towhey without disclosing the reason. Sources have said Towhey was fired after telling the mayor to seek rehab.

Towhey was replaced by deputy chief of staff Earl Provost.

On Monday morning, it was reported Toronto homicide detectives have interviewed a member of the mayor’s office after they reportedly received a tip from the mayor’s office in relation to the whereabouts of the alleged video that shows the mayor smoking crack cocaine.

Mayor Ford arrived at his City Hall office Monday through the front door but only answered one question from the media, saying he was not resigning. <snip>

2 more of the Mayor's closest advisors resigned today in the wake of the growing scandal.

Two more top aides have departed from the office of Toronto Mayor Rob Ford as the city’s troubled leader continues to battle allegations that he was caught on video using crack cocaine.

The mayor’s press secretary George Christopoulos and his assistant, Isaac Ransom, both resigned Monday, sources in the mayor’s office have confirmed.

Trusting your anonymous sources about my drug use, McNasty? How ironic that makes your sententious pronouncements about the Star.

Anyway, the debate stuff is easy for anyone to read above if they'd like. Not that I've noticed you added anything much factual or reasonable to it so far, so I'm not likely to miss what you've promised to spare me in future.

But of course you have me on Ignore, don't you. Go in peace.

Manji, there's no way not to respond to a post w/ that sig just over my Reply window: Surely no one imagined that anyone who thought a 'Mayor Huffing' vid was a good idea wouldn't think two was better?

Just for insurance, in case …, well we've all seen too much TV and bad movies.

If a video comes out of Rob Ford smoking crack, he will just deny he was smoking crack because he is a pathological liar.

I didnt say it was, dumbass
Good. So then we agree there was a video, it was seen by reporters from multiple media organizations, and it depicts what the Toronto Star says it depicts (which they worded very carefully)--Ford smoking something out of a glass pipe while looking stoned and making offhand comments that are borderline offensive. There's also a guy out there who says he's a drug dealer who says that it's crack in the pipe Ford is smoking. We also agree that a lot of people who knew Doug Ford when he was younger say that he was dealing drugs out of Royal York Plaza back in those days.

These things have been reported by credible news organizations that do not make up facts and work very hard to ensure the accuracy of what they print.

I can agree with you that the Star seems to be prioritizing stories about Ford, and devoting their investigative resources to digging out dirt about him. But dirt about him has been dug, and it's really pretty dirty.

He'll take the "Oh that video! I forgot all about that! I was showing some constituents how people who smoke crack smoke crack and how they act when cracked out! That's why I said the whole 'Trudeau's a fag' thing; I was in character. I'd never really say that. I don't think he's half the fag his father was" approach.

No, we can agree that 2 reporters and one gossip site saw what they think was Ford smoking something out of a pipe.
Not multiple media organizations. You're making it sound like its more then just 2

Smitherman also had drug problems in his youth, he was allowed to run, many people voted for him, and not a peep from the Toronto Star

Look at Nowtoronto, tweeting a bag full of shredded papers. This is just getting out of hand now:

Wiser folks wait for facts.
But smarter ones take hold of proof before pulling a rabbit out of their asses. Ms. Robyn succeeded on putting her name out there. Her words are as relevant as my ATF telling me i'm a hottie.

NOTHING has been proven... and likely never will be. Until it is, its all just hearsay and a smear campaign.
