It looks like Zionist greed is coming back to bite it as senior Fatah officials are now calling for a one state solution.

"Calling the two-state solution unrealistic, senior Fatah members issued a document Wednesday calling for the establishment of one democratic country in the area between the Mediterranean Sea and the Jordan River.
So if you read the article you actually learn that it is a paper by some tiny, unimportant study group and guess what...no current Fatah officials are involved:

"Most of the participants behind the initiative are identified with Fatah; a minority are members of other organizations in the PLO. They include Fatah member Radi Jarai, the former deputy director for prisoner affairs; Munir Abushi, the former governor of Salfit; and Prof. Uri Davis from the department of Israel studies at Al Quds University. When asked by Haaretz whether the intention was for “one state of the Palestinian people and members of the Jewish religion and others,” Davis responded that members were still discussing different concepts and definitions, and that he personally supports “one state for two peoples.”

Yeah...a misleading headline.

Sure these clowns are going to change the world.

Gryph you are funnier than ever.

Here is some good coverage that I bet Gryph missed:

http://blogs.forward.com/jj-goldberg/176942/whos-touting-a--state-plan-fatah-guess-again/

Here is what Fatah thinks of your article Gryph:

An actual Fatah official told the Jerusalem Post after the committee meeting that the party maintains its “full commitment to the establishment of a Palestinian state in the context of a two-state solution.”
you are groggy must be holding hands together in make believe land.

You really do hate Abbas don't you?

What a nice way to finish my day.

Nope. You are exaggerating and misrepresenting a story for hateful propaganda reasons.

Do you know how the Ethiopians got to Israel by the way?

They faced a genocide in their country, they had been forced into Jewish camps, and the camps were under increasing military threat. They were going to be massacred. Nobody helped. Nobody cared.

Nobody but Israel. Israel diverted all available El Al and IDF aircraft and staged one of the largest air evacuations in history, if not the largest, sending plane after plane after plane, and got them all out of there.

So I think they know they are welcomed, despite the difficulties in integrating a largely poor and illiterate population.

If I must note israel is not the only country taking in Ethiopian refugee in that event nobody sterilize them but israel hm........

Like Groggy, you might want to check the story, and get your facts right, before you post.

First, they weren't sterilized.

Second, it happened before they got to Israel, so it surely wasn't Israel doing it.

As I said you should have read the article to get your facts right. I don't think you're a liar like groggy, but you sure aren't careful with your statements, and you always err in favour of your biases.

Oh, I don't ignore them but I also would have a hard time taking their lead on human rights, democracy, free speech or a number of topics including those that are relevant in the Middle East.

True. But they do have a fairly principled approach to foreign policy, and they do stick to those principles. They just aren't the same principles the West uses.

And they do have clout in the region, clout that grows year by year.

You might want to check the story first.

They weren't sterilized, they were given a long term contraceptive, that has major issues, without their knowledge.
They were given the contraceptives in transit camps, by Israeli doctors, according to the report linked previously.

As I said, you should have read the article to get your facts right.

From the article:
And yet Reuben claims to have discovered a letter from the health ministry to a clinic in Ethiopia in 2000 thanking doctors there for the large numbers of women they had treated with Depo-Provera.
.....
"This is a policy that no one will admit. No one in Israel will take responsibility for the treatment in the camps but someone must have instigated it and it would not be in Ethiopia's interests to treat women preparing to leave the country," Aboodia said.

Thanks for confirming (a) that it happened before they got to Israel, and (b) that it wasn't sterilization. Exactly as I said.

Note all I'm doing here is holding you to the facts. I haven't made any claims -- merely corrected you as you repeatedly try to state things the article doesn't support.

Firstly, there has never been any evidence of a national policy in Israel to sterilize anybody. In fact the reverse is true, the department of health run by the government has made it clear proper patient understanding should occur before delivering birth control.

Secondly, giving someone birth control is not sterilizing them.

But feel free to keep buying into the myths. We already know your bias.

Actually if you pay attention to anything...... china supports the right of return for the Palestinian since 1946 till now
China's position has moved consistently away from that position for about 3 decades now. They have recognized Israel and now call for peace in the region. For about oh 25 years or so China has been moving away from supporting Pali militants and towards full relations both economic and political with Israel. These days, as proven by the recent very high level meetings, China is far more interested in doing business with Israel than supporting Palestinian political goals. It is simply part of a clear and obvious change of direction on China's part from a "revolutionary" nation, to a pseudo-capitalist one. Good for the world, and good for Israel.

My understanding is that China's official position now is that there should be a peace process that results in a two state solution:

Well, if you are a supporter of those ideals, than you must deplore the two Pali governments at the moment.

While Israel has an imperfect record on those issues (except perhaps democracy, they are definately a functioning democracy), the PLA and Hamas don't even pretend to offer these things to their own people.

In the real world of international relations, China is a player, at the very least an important economic player. They no longer support Pali militants and are growing closer to Israel.

On a practical basis Israel should feel stronger than before, now likely having the full support of one superpower and at least close economic ties with the other.

What the Palis need to do is start building real state apparatus and a functional political system so that people can deal with them on a serious basis and they can at least control their own territory. If they could do that they would be in a much stronger position. While they like to whine about Israel their first priority should be to get their house in order.

Anybody notice how Gryph has slinked away now his initial article has been completely debunked, and no comment from Groggy on just how misleading the approach was?

Shine a light on the rats and they scurry into the darkness.

They will be back, of course, but with a little less credibility that before. If that is possible.

It started in Ethiopian transit camps and continued in Israel. It was a long term contraceptive, 3 months at a shot with no return to full fertility for up to 18 months, all done without consent.

Which one, the policy of long term contraceptives applied only to Ethiopian Jewish women without there consent, and confirmed by the Minister of Health?
Or the OP, the meeting that called for a one state solution? You are standing by your blog's opinion on that one?

You really do need to lie don't you?

Why don't you show us where the Minister of Health confirmed this "policy". I will wait patiently.

On the meeting with twenty-some-odd nobodys who talked about the Balkan solution. You don't even have to reference the blog, the original article, when it gets around to listing the attendees it is clear there is not a single "official" amongst them.

Fatah's position on the two state solution is very clear. They recognize Israel and want a two state solution:

http://www.americantaskforce.org/da...roved_agreement_recognizing_twostate_solution

Between you and gryph it appears you hate Abbas almost as much as Israel.
