No doubt that German football is on the upswing. But, I am not sure you can conclude which league, in its entirety, is best based on a knockout tounament of the best 3-4 teams. There is no doubt that Bayern is the best team in Europe, in my opinion.

Also, a question for Don Draper. Is this the end of the Barca era? If so, where do they go from here?

It was great fun reading some earlier posts from scouser1 and manuforever in this thread about where the EPL and the German League fits.

It seems Manu is now willing to pay some very serious coin for Dortmund talent that was knocked. At Dortmund you can stand if you like and some tickets are about 10 euro. That is how a team should be run.

And if my memory serves all four German squads won their group in the Champions League this year. Very healthy signs indeed, and not a foreign sugar daddy in sight.

I don't think Barca is done for a second. They need to shore up the back, but I expect they will. I would think they will win their league again next year.

As long as Nello is in their line-up Barca will be a factor. They need to beef up their defense but good defender will come at a premium this year.

You can bet that Dortmund will not just give away Subotic and Hummels. Also the bidding war for Angelo Ogbonna is already heating up, Torino stand to make very good coin for his sale. ManU are first past the post but I expect Milan and Barca to enter the fray. But don't be surprised if he chooses to stay home.

I would not be surprised to see Hummels go, he is over rated at the moment.

after 26 years at the helm Sir Alex has decided to call it quits, being a Liverpool supporter that man has driven me nuts on countless occasions but truly one of the greats. Now the speculation begins as to who will replace him, Moyes at Everton is the favourite, it would be interesting to see what he could do with a club that has an immense budget compared to what he had with the Toffees which I always thought was great considering the circumstances he worked under.

I daresay and fear Mou might end up at Trafford with some sort of package deal involving CR7. He'll slime his way in there somehow.

It would be a shame. I was hoping RM would give Mou a 10 year contract.

It is still sinking in that next season SAF won't be at United. :(

But, us Utd fans are so spoiled, I am sure other club's supporters have been waiting for this day for a long long time to see this. Moyes, while not my first choice, would I am sure step up to the plate.

I'm not a United fan but I hope the fans don't crucify Moyes before he's even managed a game.

Remains to be seen obviously how he will fair but it might be a step to big for United...zero European experience.

This a dress rehearsal for when Arsene steps down...

Don't worry lads, I believe Sir Alex is still going to be involved with the club on the board of directors or something like that. So you know he will be around to give advice if needed to my new manager.

I think Sir Alex did a great job, but I wonder if he hadn't had an unlimited payroll how would he have done ? I realize you cant just buy big players put them on the field and win. Just a Thought

I had a feeling Jose would end up at Old Trafford as well and this was all planned out.
Obviously not but he doesnt really fit the Utd mold.
