If not a Holmes book my next guess would be Cinderella

CINDERELLA is the correct answer. 58 movies. There have been many more Sherlock Holmes movies -- but the question was not, "which fictional character has appeared in the most movies?"

Sherlock Holmes has been portrayed most often but that is a character, not a book.

So I say Murder at the Rue Morgue, the most popular Holmes novel
The Murders in the Rue Morgue was a short story by Edgar Allan Poe. NOT Sherlock Holmes. The most popular Holmes novel? - my guess would be The Hound of the Baskervilles.

What TV show theme tune/song was the first one to make it to #1 in the charts?
Hawaii Five-O
Welcome Back, Kotter
Miami Vice
theme from The Heights

Those are the four that hit number one. I'm not smart, just remembered that the question was already asked and correctly answered

Five-O peaked at #4. The first to hit#1 would have to be either Welcome Back Kotter or SWAT as they both shows premiered in 1975.
