I'm also glad you gained the age, wisdom, and life-experience to get over whatever issues you had with your mom. Might I suggest you apply some of it to your future postings so you don't end up on the defensive so quickly. Just a bit of forethought would go along way to preventing you being in your present predicament in the future.
Give the poor dog some TLC, talk about this with a veterinarian, if they say what I think they will, feed him a couple of really nice meals (with real meat) and take him in and sit with him.
got here and the dog was licking me and was all over me. it wouldn't go near anyone else. it made putting it down hard. i have only had contact with the dog 1 other time so i don't know why it was so attached to me. gave it a steak and spent the night petting and she slept with me on the couch. took her to the vet the next day and put her down and stayed with her till she stopped breathing.
then i had to go and identify the body of the guy that died.

it was worse off than we all thought. the one eye was glazed right over and blind. the other eye was fading and it was deaf. the arthritis was horribly bad as well. poor dog couldn't even walk right. yelped when i picked it up.
