i was thinking about cooking a steak or something for it and loading it up with sleeping pills.
A friend of mine did this with his 18 yr old pooch, not to put him down but to make him really doopy then we both took him to the vet to the dog put down. My buddy got the nicest steak he could find.
Good luck man, it's a tough call.

Sorry Mom
When a person makes this comment it usually means the message got through but pride has gotten in the way of acknowledging the wrong. It also means your mom is propababy a very patient and caring person who would disapprove of the comment as well. Take that as your lesson for the day.

I will take the dog and give him all the care and love it needs... how much of the estate are you giving me?

you would get the dog and whatever the dog had in the house. not my estate to give away.

Hey But- the only thing I learned today is you can`t spell and you should get that stick out of your ass and keep your pedantic, insufferable, holy than thou comments to your self.

Hmmmm.....must have hit on something there. First you compare me to your mom. Then describe me as pedantic, insufferable and holier than thou. All because I pointed out what many would consider a casually cruel comment. Obviously there are underlying issues here.

First Im too old to have any issues. Second I didn't compare you to my mom but if you think so than I'm not the one with issues. Third You must be very full of yourself to think you can speak for what many would consider. Like I said pedantic and insufferable. Now why dont you run along and find something else to pass judgment on because this is getting boring and frankly so are you.

I'm also glad you gained the age, wisdom, and life-experience to get over whatever issues you had with your mom. Might I suggest you apply some of it to your future postings so you don't end up on the defensive so quickly. Just a bit of forethought would go along way to preventing you being in your present predicament in the future.

Get a sack, some rocks, take him to the lake, and...

Or you could just take him to the humane society and they will do it properly.

a guy i can't stand died. i am not even remotely upset over that. my mom is the executor of his estate. he has a dog and my mom asked me to handle it. the dog is 19-20 year old hound. it is very over weight and has severe arthritis in every joint. i know the right thing is to put the dog down but i am struggling with that.

what would you guys do ?
put it down. its the humane thing to do

Either not "enough gun" or he is a piss poor shot. Either way your friend fucked up and the dog (and probably him) suffered as a result.
