Someone mentioned divorce lawyers as the least respected. I would have to concur, but I would add all types of lawyers and judges (who started out as lawyers). What is the difference between a mosquito and a lawyer?: one is an insect and the other is a blood-sucking parasite.

Just incase you think I'm blowing hot air, I have family and friends in the profession and worked along side many, even losing a friend to what you take as sitting around for nothing.
Apparently firefighters are only worth their salary if they're risking their lives 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. *rolleyes*

1) People who work hard.

2) People who don't work hard, yet still manage to make boatloads of cash.

Why would you respect something that is easy and disrespect something that is difficult?.

Working hard is always hard, but making boatloads of cash without working hard could be a result of many factors, most of which would make the recipient undeserving in my eyes. I do, of course, respect those who have worked hard and used ingenuity to get themselves in a position of being well-off.

Most respected:

1. Emergency room nurses - seriously they deal with the worst nastiness day in and day out.
2. Firefighters - their job description is saving lives, at tremendous risk to themselves. Any questions?
3. Teachers - well, the good ones, lol. They get blamed for everything but in reality, they just get orders.

Least respected (well there are some good ones)

1) Investment bankers - overpaid scum. Sure they work hard but I wouldn't shed a tear if they all vanished one day.
2) Real estate agents
3) Politicians.

there is nothing hard about working hard, just don't go to school and hard work will eventually find you

That's because we're not communist haters.

Hedgies serve a valuable function in society; they call out bullshitters in the capital markets.
i hope your kidding, cause hedge fund managers and derivitive traders are the absolute worst...they make cash for your jewellery hucksters look like saints..

Everyone has a different definition of "hard" work. Uneducated people doing manual labour figure they have it tough but at least they can leave work behind at the end of the day. Try spending your weekends working for free for "the man" - welcome to the world of the salaried professional.
Yep, know that feeling. Managed to convince my boss to take me off salary and he's regretted in ever since. :biggrin1:

Uh huh. You must have a unique life story that lends that perspective.

boatloads of money without working too hard=wolf
