Volunteering at an Animal Shelter

I've been trying to for years. I used to train dogs so I figured I'd volunteer. Been on the waiting list for dog walking/dog training for 3.5 years now.
Guess they don't need volunteers so badly after all.
Or they did a background check on ya and discovered you performing "artificial respiration" on a dog. That was trying to run away! :eyebrows:
But that was fair game: I asked permission first and when she could only manage a bark as an answer, it was implied consent!!!!!!!!
i am going to be getting my dog from a small dog rescue up in barrie. she seems to do great work and for 275$ all in with shots, spay/neuter, de wormed and chipped it seems like a decent price. she just got 2 dogs in from mexico that she saved. they are not really the kind i am looking for so i will keep looking but she does do great work.
did any of you see the story of patrick the pitbull ? truly amazing, the dog was abused by it's owners and tossed in a dumpster. when it was found it looked like it had been mummified or like a bit of beef jerky and to look at it you wouldn't think it was alive. fast forward a year and patrick was a full grown solid mass of muscle. being a man i am unable to cry but if i could that story would have made it happen. hold on i shall find pictures.

Ikea is not an animal shelter. And collecting carts from the parking lot, even for minimum wage, is not "volunteering". But I do see how you would be pissed.
