About 15 years ago, mY ex gf was a memebr at the Granite Club. I was stunned when I went there as I have never been to a place where it has a bowling alley, swimming pool, and an ice rink altogether in one place and indoor too. The place ooozed major wealth and I totally felt out of place. Perhaps I wasnt wearing ralph lauren clothes. I dont know. I just remember we were ordering a crazy amount of food including junk food, without paying any cash. My Ex would just give them a number and I thought it was cool. Then a month later, my gf's father was like....how could you possibly each all of those food in one day.
Even today there is no way i could ever afford to be a member there. Maybe I get lucky and meet a sugar mommy there.

But if you make ten times that per year...what's the big deal? And that's only the initial year charge. When I was growing up, I had several friends who were members. Also at the cricket club over at york mills and avenue. I'd get myself invited as much as I could.
its like leaf tickets and hi end restaurants; fees paid by corporate or government (er, i mean public servant) perquisites certainly not after tax dollars
