Defense spending may drop further under Obama. However there is no sign
that overall government spending will ever go down in the foreseeable future.
If the U.S. economy does resume growth it will only be growth by taking on
more debt.
what that tells you is they have to keep running trillion dollar deficits to keep the economy "growing", they can never cut spending which is NOT a solution. how is that a healthy economy? you say the consumer is spending, how are they gonna spend when interest rates go much higher as a consequence of trillion plus dollar deficits to keep the economy on life support? how are they gonna spend when inflation from all the money printing and deficits diminishes their purchasing power. anyway, anyway, obama is gonna have a recession to deal with his second term so you can forget about him spending his time and energy on his liberal pet projects. a recession thats starting with record number of americans on disability and food stamps, a recession thats starting with a real unemployment rate of about 15% when you factor in the underemployed and those who left the labour force cuz they couldnt find a job.A recession starting with 105% debt to gdp ratio

bc the number of people who depend on the govt outvote those who do not and the situation will only get worse. the republican party is failing bc they are trying to act like democrats, they were promising ppl something for nothing like the democrats do, so the voters say to themselves, which party is more likely to follow through and give me something for nothing?

you know who has the4 largest marginal tax rate? people who get off welfare and get a job. basically, a single mother with 2 kids on welfare when you add up all the benefits and money saved in costs associated with work such as daycare and transportation, shes better off staying on welfare than getting a 50k a year job. Plus, she also gets to stay at home and send time with her children. Even paul krugman admits this, but yet he still supports this stuff.
Society should do more to support impoverished mothers, maybe even just pay them to raise children. Declining population is a big problem and that is a solution. Educated, working women choose to have few children. Poor single mothers could be incented to make up the difference.

Fewer exports and lagging growth in company stockpiles. When you have lagging growth in stockpiles that means demand for products has fallen, and companies cant bother to keep stock. Never a good economic sign when that happens
