I absolutely LOVE food. I just wanted to give everyone a heads up that Barrielicious is on!! For those of you that have never heard of it, it's an event where certain restaurants in town provide yummy 3 course meals for $15, $20, or $25. I did notice that some of them have additional costs for some menu items though.

Is anyone using this as an opportunity to try out a new (or new to them) restaurant?

I'm checking out the website and it looks like you have to call some of the restaurants to find out the Barrielicious menu because they never posted on the site.

I wouldn't say they are using this topic to self promote. I believe the intent is community focused since they reside in Barrie and like to help out their fellow community in the area about certain events that could be fun. Not everything has to be a conspiracy.

You could also look at it as an opportunity to take advantage of this Barrielicious and if you need company, perhaps one of the fine Barrie companions could oblige

Why do I need additional exposure? I PAY to post my ads in the advertiser section. Not to mention I think I actually only work maybe 6-8 days a month and only do a limited number of appointments.

I happen to discuss food and try out restaurants with many of my clients and fellow SPs. It's a Barrie event, and I am just a proud supporter of my new community. There isn't much to do here, especially in the winter...so I like to participate in community events.

What's next? Will you call me a SHILL for the City of Barrie or the all the restaurants listed for Barrielicious?

While I was a Terb member under a different handle in 2006-2007, I often discussed the local restaurants in Hamilton. At the time, I was not even seeing new clients. Was that also self promotion? Come to think of it...I got THIS Terb handle in 2009...2 years after and 3 years before I came out of retirement. Were my posts then also self promotion?

I am on Terb primarily for social reasons. I pay to advertise so that I'm not accused of posting my random questions and posts in an attempt to advertise without paying. Dammit- apparently paying doesn't help that??

I guess the women of the boards aren't supposed to discuss things that interest them, or that they think might interest their clients or fellow SPs?

I tried a couple of "new to me" places last year and have been back to one of them again afterwards.

It is a good way to try these Restaurants at a more reasonable price, although if the food is good and the service is good, I do not mind paying.
