For me, yes. I'd rather spend time with someone about whom I have formed a positive mental opinion, than with someone where my opinions are based on another guy's hearsay.

Who I'm doing it with is more important to me than what we're doing. I'm going to make a 'short list' first, if I'm looking to book with somebody new, (or new to me), and if I read their reviews, I'm looking more for 'black flags' that would prompt me to chose someone else, rather than as a guideline to what my own encounter would probably be like.

I did, and wouldn't likely have found her if not for this forum. Not from Toronto, and I don't spend a ton of time on this board, so it was pure luck I saw SPJ posting when I joined.

More likely to book with SPs that never have posted in the lounge. I don't want a chick that yaps alll day on terb.

Alas, it's a double edged sword.

SPs run the risk of voicing personal opinions that might offend clients (for whatever reason). I personally find intellect attractive.

I was going to book an SP on Terb until I read a post from her and she came across like a man hater.

So, it actually backfired on her.

It's hard for it to be a determining criteria when such a small percentage post in the lounge.

Intellect does not always coincide with literary skill, and vice versa. I think most often some smart and witty commentary by an sp would be a plus for many potential clients. It is for me. Yet one must be careful of the skillful actors out there who can hide their real personality with good written communication skills. Have you ever seen someone get hired because they were dynamite in the interview and then tanked in the job? Uh-huh. Think about ourselves and our circle of friends ... how many of us would still be in that circle if we were evaluated solely on our written communication skills.

But as TeasePlease and FlapJack noted, poor skills can be a plus for us as potential clients since some sps skewer themsleves by writing on the board. Sometimes it is better to leave the pen down and appear the fool than to pick up the pen and remove all doubt.

Here's hoping I don't remove all doubt ...

I generate a lot of clientelle by being a prolific poster on perb. I'm a paid advertiser there but only bump my ad once every couple of weeks.

There are more ladies that post regularly there, compared to here, and we've all been told that many clients became interested in seeing us due to our board posts.

Just about 2 miles past appropriate
Can work both ways.

I think the SP posts (not ads, but actual discourse) give us a little glimpse into the personality of the SP and can give you a heads up as to whether you would connect personality wise. There are a couple of regular posters on here who I want to see primarily because their posts (doesn't even have to be sexual in nature) make them very attractive to me. Smart women with empathy and a sense of humour are sooooo sexy.

It can also help you avoid potential disasters. I was PMng with an SP on here who threw something very personal I shared with her back in my face when she was having a bad day. Her bizarre mood swing, aggressive posture, and insensitive use of my difficult circumstances caused me to immediately lose faith in her demeanor and more importantly became concerned about her discretion or lack thereof.

Overall - if you have an S/O I think you'd be more likely to trust someone who posts in here.

I found that tall skinny long-legged women with pretty faces are generally underrepresented on internet. This is why I am not hoping to meet one in the lounge.

It's not just the intelligence that impresses me, it's the likeability and playfulness that can only come across if she's a regular poster. This can't be done easily in just an advertisement.
