Wonder what prompted the odd timing? Overall it's not as if he didn't deserve it. The only thing good he did was somehow manage to get rid of Kaberle, Blake, Toskala and Stajan. He's made some major errors including hiring Ron Wilson and probably Carlyle, free agent signings Komisarik and Connelly, draft pick Kahdri, the Kessel trade etc etc.
