More correctly you thought he thought the squid was 2000 feet long.

Of course besides the use of common sense, this could have been confirmed by clicking on the YouTube link whereupon it is in the fifth paragraph of the commentary.
Discovery had a video of a squid hunt a few years back, but not as good as this one. More like a series of stills.
