45 days only? I think its sending the wrong message that its worth to try becoming a corrupt cop.. Worse comes if you get caught, you'll only have 45 days of house arrest. ><

There is no chance of them ever working as cops. 45 days for them to reflect on how stupid and embarrassing it was tolose their careers. Still far too short though.

i don't like to see police go to jail. it's far worse for them than regular civvies. this seems light and our experience in toronto is that bad cops get promoted no matter. that's the wrong part. this should move them to a desk job for life. at a lower salary.

I get around.
No time to reflect

Doesn't seem like much of a house arrest really since they can get out of the house whenever they want.

Exceedingly lax house arrest at that — what’s known in courthouse lingo as “working mom’s house arrest’’ because it allows exceptions for jobs, health-related appointments (including appointments for family members), consultation with lawyers and, oh yes, four hours free and clear each Saturday “to attend to personal needs.”

These scum bags should have went to jail.
Amen Its one law for the cops and one for everyone else.......because they are cops they should get a heavier sentence for betrayal...now dirty cops will know they can get away

Err..... All the Crown proved, IIRC, is that they didn't bother getting a warrant for one search and then lied about it in court. Dumb and sleazy, but not that serious. All the serious charges were not proven.

45 days is about right, given the high profile of the case. If the case was less notorious, I suspect they would have gotten suspended sentences.

What they were convicted of, and the ensuing sentence is of no interest to the dilettantes. It is the politics of the disaffected. I suspect that if they were ever in trouble with the law they would want the best lawyer that they could obtain, and would be praying for acquittal regardless of guilt. Interestingly, babypowder was screaming to the heavens when the Toronto Councilor (Ann Bailou?) was charged with impaired driving. His rant was people should not judge her and that justice should take its course. This is the malleability of the cult of the left when it is themselves or one of their own. Hypocrite.

If these cops had been convicted of the assault charge, I would be in favour of a heavy sentence. They were not guilty. Their real penalty is that all of them have lost great careers. That I agree with. A member of the public is virtually defenceless in court against the word of a policeman. The police must know that their evidence be true, untainted, and not manipulated to obtain a conviction. Even against a scumbag.

Just about 2 miles past appropriate
If they weren't identified as cops I would have assumed they are wiseguys since they all look the part.

The judge was totally gutless, considering the primary crime of these scum was to ignore judicial oversight....

are you on crack??? what hole did you crawl out of? you don't like seeing police go to jail because it's worse for them?
it's worse for pedophiles too... do you not like seeing them go to jail either??

so your stand is that they break the law, betray the public trust, but should be 'punished' with a 'desk job for life'?

I didn't follow the case closely. What were their bail terms for the last ten years, and have they been working recently?
