So I wanna buy a second monitor for my computer so I can have dual monitors going.

Currently I have a 22" Samsung SyncMaster T220 LCD and I'd like to stick with Samsung and get one of similar size (maybe a little bigger but not much smaller). Don't really care if it's LCD or LED. My current monitor uses DVI and I don't have a HDMI input on my video card but I do have space for a second DVI cable. I want my new monitor to be HDMI-capable because my current monitor isn't. Worst case scenario I get a HDMI to DVI cable adapter.

Any thoughts/suggestions about what I should be looking for or avoiding?

Futureshop has an online boxing day sale on a S22B350H 21.5" LED for $109 ($90 off) and I'm looking at that.

In-store only they have a 10193159 23" LED for $139 ($70 off) and 10193166 27" LED for $259 ($40 off). I'm more interested in these but I'm not lining up for 'em.

Just get an Brand name LED with HDMI, DVI ports.

Got a 23" LED HP last year on Black Friday for $120 and it has been flawless so far, knock on wood.

Next one, LED or whatever is better, will be bigger.....;)

Anybody use a high definition TV as a computer monitor (just use an HDMI or VGA cable to connect)?
Yes ....use my 47" LED HDTV as a PC monitor. HDTV is hooked up to laptop via HDMI cable and it runs great....:thumb:

VGA cable runs an older laptop fine but with VGA there is no HD.

ps: FWIW, forgot to mention this other important point/advantage to this which is it effectively turns your HDTV into a 'super smart' TV, as long as you have a laptop or PC to connect to your HDTV. Found out about this on some tech boards where they were saying buying any so called smart TV is a waste of money because they are all pretty limited in what there are capable of and will generally run you an extra $100 or more. Connecting your laptop or PC to your HDTV will do far more than any so called smart TV and will only cost you the price of an HDMI or VGA cable....;)
