Thinking about joining a dating service

I am considering joining a high end dating service. I figure this would help me focus on getting into a meaningful relationship as oppose to the "emptiness" that I am currently experiencing in this particular lifestyle. The dating service that I have researched will provide me up to 4 dates a month with high quality women that are educated, good profession and catered to my specifications.
So should I take the plunge? Btw, this will cost me about $2800 for a 18 month membership ( one year and 6 month bonus )

Thoughts please..

$2,800? Like wtf? Are you crazy?

If you can't meet and communicate with proper women then better spend that money on personal development.

Otherwise, there are plenty of resources, for instance, such as POF where there are myriad of opportunities for free.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained...I say go for it...breaks down to 155 a month, can't even get an hour with a SP for that much. I might even try it myself.

Don't do it if you're short and Asian. I tried Lifemates over 10 years ago. After a month of no set ups, they told me I'd be difficult to match. Service is worthwhile if you're a woman.

Personally I don't think its worth it.

Spend that money on some hobby you enjoy, meet women there, don't be creepy, win

Did they give you your money back?

Spend the money...it is so hard to find women who are not married, not in relationships, not lesbians, and people who actually are ready for dating. You could explore dozens of hobbies and perhaps make a few friends at best. This is a more direct approach where you aren`t wasting money in bars, or valuable time on dating websites messaging people who have no intention of messaging you back

Hey Bruce just out of curiosity - what's the name of the dating service? Are they based in Toronto? I may be interested in joining as well. Feel free to pm me if you prefer not to post here.

It does have its merits, if your looking too settle down! You must be serious on exactly what kind of woman, or your waisting time and money! I tried it over 20 yrs. ago! Still not ready too settle down, been free for too long.

No. The contract says they will try and find you a suitable match, not they will guarantee you X number of dates.

At the time, I was under 30, earning over 70,000 a year and had recently graduated from a MBA program. I was and still am fit, but my height was by far the biggest hurdle, followed by ethnicity.

with all that money you make, I think it would be easier to go to Asia and find a nice girl with some good family values. I think Asian girls that grow up over there are better than EU or Latin girls. I would do that instead of wasting time with girls here, unless a white girl is what you are after.

I still say free is best, just weed out the ones you dont like. Also, do the women that use this service also pay? If they dont pay, or pay a reduced rate, you might be paying $1800 to get a line-up of gold-diggers. Another thing to keep in mind is that a dating service is just another avenue of meeting others for possible relationship and nothing is guaranteed. How are you going to feel if you pay the dough and go on a bunch of dates but none are of which you are looking for? If you are flush with cash and/or dont care about the money then I say "why not" But if you are going to be disappointed or feel ripped off if you dont find the "one" then you might want to reconsider.

how much of an age difference would they tolerate?

A friend of mine, good looking and in shape, about 40, paid a lot of money, and never had a second date with any of the women he was introduced to. You can afford it, but don't expect any guarantees.

I've been thinking about one of the executive services myself, going on the basic premise that soemtimes you get what you pay for. Free is cheaper, not necessarily better.

the place that I am looking to sign up with has the same set of standards for all female members who sign up. By this I mean that they are all working professionals with good careers and financially independant. So no gold diggers here, since they must pay the membership to join.
