I tried POF and sent messages to about 100 women over a course of two months. Genuine, well written, witty messages that I hoped would get some attention. Spent about 10-15 minutes on each message trying to tailor it to the girls profile so that it doesn't come across as generic.

Only got 2 replies back. Both saying thanks but not interested.

The really irritating part is that the 98 who didn't reply back actually did read my message ! I mean, at least have the fucking courtesy to reply back to say you are not interested.

Might give it another go....sick of the numbers game atm.

hahah its true though.. you never know who is a hit or miss. Can end up spending too much time on there clicking through pretty girl pics. It usually happens like this for me.. hey, she looks gorgeous and profile tells me she is a sweet girl. I may be out of her league but I should message her.. She just might reply back .. never know xDD

These days I don't write more than a sentence or two.. still getting fair number of reply backs. I don't get it with some women though.. they write on their profiles, "don't expect a reply if you don't have anything creative to say or write one sentence only." i'm tempted to write back, "Bitch.. do you know how much effort guys put in writing to girls and not even hearing back." Stupid chicks sometimes.. want guys to write them a poem or a paragraph on their first message while most are so superficial they will only look at the guy's pics first before even reading what he may have written xD

That site is all about your picture. If you pretend to be a muscular black guy with shirt off, many girls would message you; I guarantee 100% that would work. Most people on the site are white, I think. The guy's background matters a lot on that site.

haha trust me .. sometimes it can get confusing what women are actually looking for .. months ago, i tried putting a fake pic of an old white dude (4/10) on my profile and I was surprised to see my inbox get messages from women without even sending them a message. Made me wonder what kind of taste women actually had on there :/

The bad thing about POF and other dating sites is that the attention women receive go to their heads. They receive hundreds of replies to their ads(even the fat ones) and start to have an inflated opinion of themselves to their point where a 4 or 5 thinks she is an 8. They totally become addicted to the site to feed their appetite for attention, and blow off tons of decent guys they might meet through other venues.

I think POF is free. That brings with it a pile of losers (male and especially female)

Women are cheap when it comes to spending money on men. They view internet dating sites as "spending money on men" and they don't like it. So they go to POF because it's free.

The guys on there - well, they're just broke-ass broke.

Either way, I think you'll (I'm generalizing) meet a better caliber of women on the pay sites. First off, there are no broke-ass broke dudes, and second off, it will attract a woman who is more serious (if she's spending her money.)

true... probably why I'll never get too serious with anyone I meet off such dating sites, especially for someone wife-material. Its too easy for them to walk out thinking they can always jump back on such sites and look for the next best guy that comes along.

This is a funny post. Guys you need to do some weeding out. Ya there were 300lb welfare moms on there but guess what? Im not interested. I was dating (fucking) 3 different nurses at the same time (time phrame, not 4some) a few years back on there. Im not broke either. well... its safe to say most of us guys are on there for fun. You must be out of your mind to go looking for a potential wife in there, although i'm sure that does happen.

And who cares if guys are broke or not... We aren't looking for guys so that doesn't bother us. Its just the girls who need to weed them out and actually puts us guys with money in a better position
