Haven't been here on a Friday night, but can say it's the best small intimate candle lit bar I know.

Try the molecular martini. Expensive but your date will be impressed.
Try to keep your eyes off the super hot blond cocktail waitress; your date will not be impressed.
References to Milestones would I presume be to the one overlooking Dundas Square ("Milestones on Four", if I recall correctly).
You should also be able to find a quiet corner at one of The Keg restaurants. Or walk along King west until you find something that excites you.

Crown and Dragon is kind of pedestrian. Not sure if you want something super casual?
I love the bar at Senses in the Soho. Top of the Hyatt is super romantic. Reposado on Ossington is also a cool spot - especially if you like tequila!

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions. I ended up at Kultura near St. Lawrence Market. It was pretty much perfect for that night. Quiet. Great atmosphere. Read some nice reviews of the place. No chemistry with the date though. I guess there's always the hobby lol.
