CBC is broadcasting the entire game to-night. Johnathan and Bouchard already had their fight. Was Orr already retired by 1978?
Watched the game last night, Wow!, end to end action for the entire game, one of the greatest games ever played, brought back memories of 70's hockey, 95% of players did not wear helmets, you could tell who was who on the ice, lol.

Orr wasn't retired yet, he was with the Blackhawks, he was still a great player with the one bad knee , in 26 games played with Chicago, he scored 27 points. He retired in 1980.

Was Bunny Laroque the backup goalie to Dryden? Kind of sad seeing Bill Nyrop who passed away not too long after that game.

P.S. Forgot that the Habs lost that game (but went on to win the Cup).

Yup, that was Larocque , the back up, sitting on the bench looking bored.

Sad to say, he passed at age 40 (I think). Was a 1st round draft choice. He and Doug Wickenheister (another 1st round draft choice) never lived up to expectations and both passed at a fairly young age.

Pound for pound, Jonathan was probably the best fighter in the history of the NHL, or at least as long as I followed the sport.

The two worst were Pete Mahovlich and Keith Magnusson. Magnusson never won a fight, and Mahovlich won only one, and it was against Magnusson.

I think Tie Domi and Chris Nilan are roughly the same size as Stan. Bear in mind when he fought Bouchard he was wearing that damn helmet (Bouchard was bareheaded).

Stan will forever be remembered for the Bouchard fight.
As will Bouchard, at least I only remember him as the guy who had it handed to him by Stan.
