Would Toronto want Vince Carter back?

Wow if he is entertaining coming back to Toronto that means no contender wants him as a roleplayer.

That's how bad he is now.

And why bring him back? He'd only take minutes away from our starting SF or SG who need the minutes to develop. If we just committed to DeMar then where does VC play?

I heard that the Rockets have half the payroll of the Lakers. I'm sure there are other teams like the Rockets none of them are looking to take VC.

Furthermore, Casey wants guys to play tough defense....... not part of Vince's game

WAtching the humiliation by the Thunder we don't need a perimeter guy so the raps can sit back and jack threes.

As for filling seats. He is not the highlight reel anymore and people probably wouldn't want to pay to boo him. Plus how is that going to feel for the rest of the team to havea home court where fans come to heckle one of your teammates?

A turkey is not so pretty after everyone is done with it.

Aw here we go. Now it seems like every media idiot is suddenly on the Carter band wagon. Where was this in the years after his departure from Toronto ?
And I repeat, it is not that he left, it is how he left. It always has been with me. He mailed it in the last part of his final season here. Fuck him.

That was against Charlotte :D

But yeah those were pretty plays.

Now that being said pretty dunks and blocks are not really all that important..... if you look at his stats he's not a block monster so I'd be more impressed if he did this with any sort of regularity. As for dunks...... I'd take a guy with better FG% and variety of offensive skills. Carter is a jumpshooter who can dunk. Furthermore, does he dunk and block like that every night these days?

The Raptors have younger fresher legs that can dunk and shoot Js.

I never felt that when he was here that he made other players better.

Bring a player back if they fill a needed role or have something to offer. Other than name recognition I struggle to think of anything else. And unfortunately if he was here he'd probably get booed. So that name recognition is not really worth anything.

But like I said before. He would just take away minutes from guys like Derozan who need the minutes to get better.

I'm trying to decide whether the current Carter is an upgrade over Colangelo's small forward free agent signings thus far in Kleiza, Turkoglu, Kapono and Fields.

Uh yeah, I'll take him back, it's better than the turds Colangelo has been throwing money at.

To make it proper Colangelo move, we would end up trading a first round pick and Fields to get him though.

LOL of those SFs I like Fields the best but grudgingly admit he is no VC.

And yes Matt Bonner is a great example of a guy who endeared himself to the fans of the Raptors.

i was simply showing that he still gets highlghts . he gets 14+ points per game coming off the bench which is better than his last 2 seasons as a starter.I mean he hasnt started the game but hes the guy with the 2nd amount of points on the team. I wouldnt have him starting but obviously this guy would improve the team immensely just as a 6th man

Interesting interview with Sam Micthell, Carter did not want to leave Toronto?
Have to admit it tho, VC put T.O. basketball on the map. The guy was an incredible ball player and i wish things ended differently.
Can't really put all the blame on #15, Babcock was just as guilty.
But really, if your employer treated you like shit, how would you react?

+1 bring back Carter and start him over Fields, no matter how washed up he is he still a better baller than Laundry.

Personally, I don't believe that. I like and respect Sam Mitchell, not sure why he would lie about something like that but has everyone forgot that Vince Care QUIT on the Toronto Raptors. Look at his stats before and after he left the Raptors. He quit, like a little baby.
