This isn't a who-said-it, but my favourite sports quote comes from a nascar race a few years ago.
There are five laps to go, and the leading six cars are running nose to tail. The crowd is on their feet, cheering fit to bust, watching for their driver to make a move. Everything hangs on the outcome.
The commentator interviews one of the crew chiefs. "Your man is lying fourth out of the six. What instructions are you giving him over the radio?"
The crew chief says, "If you can think of something, tell me, and I'll pass it on."
