I've realized something recently, but it's such a paradigm shift, it's taking a long time to sink in.

We are just accidental lifeforms on a random planet that came and will go in a tiny fraction of universe's history. Our microscopically short human lives start and end within the blink of an eye.

Meanwhile we all think our lives are full of purpose, meaning, progression. We think we have souls. Our lives feel significant and precious. We invented religion to support these ideas. Well, too bad, everyone's just going to die and turn to dust. All your memories, hopes, dreams, ambitions will be destroyed and forgotten.

I wonder if anyone in the world truly understands this? If you apply it to everything you think and do, what kind of person would you be?

You sound like an existentialist.

So your just figuring this out now? my dear mmouse, stand at the edge of a cliff overlooking the North Atlantic Ocean and grasp the emptiness, depth and vastness of that huge pond... or get out of the city, go up north in the middle of nowhere, on a hill top, look from left to right see a sky filed with stars from horizon to horizon. Yea; you're one breath short of not existing.

No omnipotent individual could have picked this tiny speck of dust in the cosmos of the galaxy to decide... "...this is where I shall plant a seed... I'll call it Adam" you know the rest of the story...

A simple rock the size of a school bus hits this spinning globe and we're all as extinct as the T-Rex.

Put that in your cranial implants :)

Just my opinion.... but then again, I'm Catholic.

Now that irony

Hmm you are right. Might as well start a mass suicide. You drink first.

yup if you look at the lifeline of the universe, earth is just a tiny molecular speck... Human life wouldn't even be detected under a powerful microscope xD

Life is very short; Don't take it too seriously and love everyone, especially those very close to you.

You're absolutely correct, and I probably needed this reminder. I need to be less risk-averse.

True.
We are all inconsequential to the fate of the universe.
So spending all our free time paying to fondle ladies will not dramatically change the universe either.
Phew.

What if there is a god, don't be too sure there isn't, your just living in denial if you throw out that possibility.
