If you're referring to the Galaxy Nexus, you're correct. The Nexus S and Nexus One get their updates from Google, AFAIK.What version is it and with what carrier?
Apparently in Canada we get the upgrades through the carrier and not google.
I bought a nexus and still have 4.1.1, instead of 4.1.2.If you're referring to the Galaxy Nexus, you're correct. The Nexus S and Nexus One get their updates from Google, AFAIK.
If you're referring to any other phone than the Nexus lineup, then the carrier and OEM determine when and if you get an update. Google has no say in the matter.
Which Nexus? Probably a Galaxy Nexus.I bought a nexus and still have 4.1.1, instead of 4.1.2.
That sucks bigtime.Which Nexus? Probably a Galaxy Nexus.
If so, the Canadian ones get their updates when Samsung and the carriers decide.
You can bypass this if you're technical and know how to switch your model to "takju" firmware.
Actually all carriers around the world do that. They take android and do their own customizations which means when the upgrades come out they also have to adjust them before upgrading their phones. What version is it and with what carrier?

4.1.2 is in its ota roll out now depending on which handset model. Should be updated soon.I bought a nexus and still have 4.1.1, instead of 4.1.2.
I may be wrong but it has nothing to do with samsung directly, just the google tweaks for the different handset hardware. On my nexus s I've been on 4.1.1 for a while.Which Nexus? Probably a Galaxy Nexus.

I was under the understanding that Samsung tweaks the Jelly Bean to fit their hardware. For instance, the movie widget allowing you to watch a movie while texting, etc is now has an adjustable screen. There are more camera features that take advantage of the low light capabilities of the camera and processor power (video editing, more special effects) and the Swype keyboard will be provided as a standard option. The original keyboard sucked so I already switched to Swype - it is a great keyboard.I may be wrong but it has nothing to do with samsung directly, just the google tweaks for the different handset hardware. See my original post. The Nexus S hardware is made by Samsung but Google is responsible for all updates. For some reason, Google decided to give Samsung control of updates in some markets, Canada being one of them.I may be wrong but it has nothing to do with samsung directly, just the google tweaks for the different handset hardware. I got 4.1.2 within a few days on my Nexus. Of course, I flashed it to the takju firmware. This switches it from Samsung to Google for updates.4.1.2 is in its ota roll out now depending on which handset model. Should be updated soon.
Agreed, one of the things I do not like about Android. That sucks bigtime.
Is it easy to do? Do you have a link to where you learnt it?I got 4.1.2 within a few days on my Nexus. Of course, I flashed it to the takju firmware. This switches it from Samsung to Google for updates.
