You are correct-your brain has certain sensory processing power and if you withdraw one type of input (in this case visual) the processing power of cortical area responsible for that type of input is reallocated to another sensory inputs-this is how our brain maximizes it's own resources. That's why I love blindfolding-it really heightens your tactile sensations and it's a good work out for imagination.
I have read enough academic papers about gender specific sensory perception to confidently tell you that it is not true. And speaking non-scientifically, if women are less visual than men, how do you explain vast array of women's fashion, jewelry and make up compared to men's?

They're primarily intended for male viewing and to enhance/highlight the woman (in a heterosexual context anyways). This supports his point.
It's still being debated whether men are more visual than women. There's a ton of stuff out there about kissing too.... It sure is weird when you catch someone watching you while you make out with them though!
Well... because they are shy. Same reason they want the light off. Unless they are in the escorting industry....than would be a different reason, maybe they dont want to see your face. lol
Guys too. Maybe they have slight claustrophobia or just just don't like things close to their face. ORRRRRR they just don't like YOU. I like to keep my eyes open and watch for those little micro signals in their eye and facial muscles. Some girls don't mind, others find it a little hard to take until I explain.
I strongly disagree-I dress into what I like, it doesn't always have to be about men. Because if it was women would be walking around naked, really.
I heard it said that woman dress for other woman, not for men. Personally, I think it depends. Going out, for woman, staying in and getting laid, for her man. ONe added thought, some woman find kissing the most intimate act. A good kisser .....
You know I love arguing with you! So we get boobs for ourselves but dress for men? There's a wonderful quote by Valentino Garavani that I keep coming back to often. When asked how he managed to be such a successful womenswear designer for so long he said "I know what women want. They want to feel beautiful." I think that explains both implants and fashion. Sometimes men can make us feel beautiful too, but let me tell you, every time I look at my ass in yoga pants I melt. Other people melting is just a bonus.
