These pigs have literally become "Roman citizen". Becomig a cop means you will enjoy a wide range of protection and privileges not granted to regular people. We are sheep .

No surprise, the DA and Police are buddy buddies

Its just like the only time you hear about off duty cops getting busted for drunk driving is when they have an accident, they never just get pulled over for bad driving...well maybe they do get pulled over but seems like we only hear about it when there has been an accident. Then the other cops just can't drive them home or call a cab for them

Best advice I ever heard about the police is, "yeah, cops can be pretty cool sometimes but you never ever trust them"

Presumably if Ontario is like the rest of the Common Law world, these Constables will never again be able to effectively testify in court since the presumption given to their testimony when a judge or jury weighs their evidence against other testimony is gone and will never return. Hence they will be flying desks for the rest of their careers, if they have any.

Further, this seems very strange. For all the badmouthing of the U.S. legal system on TERB, a case like this in the U.S. would almost certainly a) result in prosecution b) a suspension with pay while that case went to trial. c) termination if they were found guilty.

S.C. Joe, I don’t know about Michigan, however in other U.S. jurisdictions you don’t want to be a drunk driving cop because you will be arrested and prosecuted (without any crash having occured). The day of the ride home is long gone in my part of the world.

Going back 9 years, we had a county commissioner get a ride home by the police and it only came to light cause of the dashboard video camera..he still ended up with no criminal record cause the plea deal he got if he kept his nose clean for so long-which he did ....he is number 9, Brooks Patterson...guess what, he is a Republican

I'm just guess the reason behind the differences is that police unions hold much more power in Ontario/Canada. They also get paid a hell of a lot more.

Dashboard video cameras have help but they are not required and not all depts have them like Detroit police and some depts have an on/off switch for the cameras

Not true.

Do a search for "Detective Mark Charlebois" of York Regional Police. Because he made an ass out of himself at the G20 stuff no Judge would take him seriously. So he was promoted to Sgt. He guides the investigations but will never have to testify.

Why not list all the off duty cops who have been busted for DUI with no accident...if you never hear about it, doesn't mean no off duty cops drove drunk.

Heck in the USA cops get off all the time, cops shoot and kill unarmed people all the time and when the few times the police are charge, like that 50 shot New York cop who killed that guy celebrating his upcoming wedding, the cops all get found not guilty by a jury.

Down in Texas I believe it was, some cop killed a dude in a wheelchair that was waving a ball point pin at the cop, cop "feared for his life" and shot and killed the dude, no charges filed.

Its WORST here in the USA

Houston police officer fatally shoots double amputee in wheelchair

http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-504083_...-fatally-shoots-double-amputee-in-wheelchair/

September 24, 2012

(CBS/AP) HOUSTON - A Houston police officer shot and killed a wheelchair-bound double amputee on Saturday after the man allegedly threatened to stab the officer and his partner with what turned out to be a pen.

The Houston Chronicle reports that Matthew Marin shot Brian Claunch, a mentally ill one-armed, one-legged man. Police say Marin and his partner felt threatened by Claunch, who was waving an object that turned out to be a silver pen.

The Chronicle reports that Marin had shot someone else in the line of duty three years ago. Marin will work three days of desk duty.

Arlene Kelly, the co-founder of Civilians Down, a Houston group that monitors police misconduct, questions whether Marin was justified in shooting Claunch, telling the newspaper that she wonders how dangerous a suspect is if he only has one arm and one good leg.

Actually I don't flip flop. I think 99.9999999% of cops are douche bags who are sociopaths. Think about this: Who the FUCK wants a job dealing with the lowest common denominator night and day? Only a low life sociopath. I dogged them last week, I dogged them this week. Cops are trash.
