I have picked up some very agressive virus despite McAffey AV software fully up to date.

I was reading the thread on TERB about fleshlights and had never seen one so I googled fleshlight and clicked on an xhamster website.

About 30 seconds into the video this screen comes up saying its the police and I had been caught promoting terrorism, or surfing porn etc

Anyway it wants me to go to Esso and buy kcash or. Sone other money voucher and put in the number or else it will lock my computer.

There is a coat of arms for the Canadian pacific police service.

It seems to activate as soon as it gets a wireless signal. Any wireless signal. It wants $ 100.00 orelse.

I deleted my cache and ran a full scan with MacAffey and no viruses were detected.

Any ideas?

If I shut the radio off the thing does not fire up

I can't go on line to download malware.

I'm using my BB for this thread.

As soon as it gets a wireless signal (from any modem as I tried my bb hotspot and it made no difference)

Did you do a backup? If so I would wipe out the harddrive and re-install the OS jus to be safe. Its the only way to ensure its 100% clean

That's it allright

$100 orelse.

I am surprised that my AV software did nothing.

I will try the youtube solution tomorrow when I have computer access to another machine. If I shut the radio off the computer does not lock up.

Fucking bastards who come up with this shit.

I will also backup my files before I get too carried away.

Those Fucking bastards are always looking for ways to exploit weaknesses in Windows.
Surfing porn sites with Windows is always risky. Some porn sites are loaded with malware aiming to fark up your PC.
The only times I got hit with viruses was when using McAfee.
Since switching to Norton then free Avast I was never hit.

This is one reason I switched to Linux, which IMHO is the best AV you can have with superior security that Windows lacks and now I don't worry about a thing and go to any and all, even 'suspect sites' with total impunity....

But this is Xhamster we are talking about. One of the most reputable sites. And he was just watching a stream, not downloading anything.

I always trust Pornhub, Xvideos, and Xhamster.
You never know when something bad will be embedded in a file no matter where it is.

You have to pay for Norton etc. Its not an option these days. Too much malware out there. Mine is constantly blocking crap. I run the power eraser regularily as well as scans. Use CCCleaner too for cookies, history etc. Never have a problem.

It is worth the money.

The malware crap just keeps getting worse and in spite of its improvements, Windows is still a security sieve. You have to be careful where you surf and keep all your security scans/AV updated!

I hope the YouTube video is helpful. Sometimes, the viruses are damn tough to clean up. I once had to pay Future Shop to clean out my system.

I now use Kaspersky anti-virus. So far, it has worked well.

Fuck I feel for you Captain. Similar thing happened to me last year, I had to do a backup and wipe the hard drive clean and reinstall the OS. If you can find an easier way please let us know. Good luck.
