I think a kit is overrated. Warm some olive oil in the microwave, cock your head to one side, use an eyedropper to place some in your ear, stick in a cotton ball and repeat for the other ear. Let sit for 5 minutes. Lightly clean with a Q tip.

This may be a 2 person operation but it should yield results. Barring that ask your doctor. Mine has syringed my ears before. Screwed up my balance for a few minutes but it did the trick.

eBay. They don't sell that equipment at drug stores. Anybody that tells you that is an idiot.

I've purchased ear wax kits at Shoppers before so I'm not sure why you would say that and why you seem so angry about it.

Kits have a little squeeze bulb that you use to flush out your ear with warm water. Any major drug store should carry them.

I never notice hearing loss from Wax build up until I go have the doctor to plunger it out. It's like everything being said to me is in stereo after that.I've tried about 4-5 store bought remedies and all of them are the shits.....some are even harmful.Take about 5 minutes.Have the doc do it.

I bought the kit at Shoppers Drug Mart, worked good for me. You might have to do it a couple of times to get results, it even says that on the directions.

Are most family doctors trained to do this? And have specialized equipment much better than the drug stores?

It's just a dirty big syringe that looks like something out o the 19th century. The one time I had in done in a MD's office it didn't work too well. I had a ENT doctor basically dig out some heavy build up.

The syringe works best if you soften up in advance with some olive oil. A few days of that, then take the plunge. You'll be able to hear a pin drop. :)

Yeah, I've had it done a few times at the doc's office. It was incredible what came out - like the eraser of a pencil.

Could have heard a pin drop after that.

It's not just my hearing that feels impaired by what feels like a clog in my ears, but my right ear often hears nonexistent ringing that lasts for a day or two whenever I hear loud music.
