Just spent 2 sessions on phone with Bell . It seems that someone at the loyalty dept. "mysteriously " scheduled me for disconnection. My email acct was disabled last night @ midnight, and my internet connection was set to be disabled at midnight tonight.
The request was made 30 days ago (apparently) . These guys are total idiots . they were shocked when I told them I never had such a conversation with the loyalty dept. I asked why would they disconnect my email and wait for 24 hrs to disconnect my internet. All they could say was "That must be what you requested" they couldn't get it thru their thick skulls that I hadn't requested a termination of service. One person I spoke with , after she asked me repeatedly if I could still access the internet, and I told her yes each time, asked of I still had the modem or h ad I sent that back?
I felt like telling her that I had sent the modem back, but no doubt that would have just complicated things even more.
I wonder h ow loyal the loyalty dept is ? or bell canada for that matter.

you shouldn't be using a bell email anyway. that's why a third party email is always the long-term way to go. as painful as this is, they have done you a favour. i imagine they will re-establish you. take that opportunity to fix things so it can't happen again. the best would be to get your own domain name.

Agreed!
I stopped using ISP emails years ago for that reason.
It's a real pain losing your email when you change ISPs and starting all over.
With a third party email you don't lose a thing and can change providers all you want not losing a beat.

I spoke to the Bell Loyalty Department a few days ago and they reduced my landline phone bill by 10% and threw in a free month.

I agree with the third party email, I have been doing that fro the last few years but there are still several on my list for the sympatico acct.
I would never again use the ISP email because you are trapped. Live & learn.

Update, well today my internet was down because " I had requested service cancellation on August 23rd" another hr on the phone to sort that out. I asked how they were going to reimburse me for the aggravation they put me through. after on hold for 15 minutes the answer was, " We can't do anything right now because you have requested termination of service, please call back on Monday when your internet is operational and speak with a loyalty clerk" At that point my internet was back up & running but my patience was thin... Oh, and the person I was speaking with said " It was definitely an error on our end"
Thanks for the great service. Ma-Bell!

Is there a way to download your 3rd party (say Yahoo) emails to your own harddrive?
Imagine there's a way. Or you could store them in the Cloud.
