I hope that the Americans get their wish.

Canadians should in this area should respect the wishes of our American cousins and not shop in their town / city / state.

Ever.

I see two problems that are no fault of these Canadians crossing the border. One, the price disparity between buying goods in Canada and buying goods in the U.S. Two, laws in the U.S. preventing expansion which I'm assuming are meant to protect smaller businesses.

I have to agree though, waiting in a line-up of cars while drivers fill up their vehicles AND their gas cans would be annoying as hell. Of course, waiting for a guy to pump gas into an SUV with three times the fuel capacity of my car is also annoying :D

Should go to every store and food stand and ask them if they speak Canadian before being served.

. (Here is what people that don't know or remember years ago they had a gas shortage in the USA and they came across to canada to get gas and they had a high exchange rate, they tied up the our roads and had 45 gallon drums to fill awhile in line for gas, they had a gas station that had so much gas leak into the sewers from the overflow of people trying to get as much gas they could into the tank or drum that it cause explosion at water pumping station that rock a house of its foundation about 2 blocks away so iam not feeling sorry for the americans its Karma

Very simple way to do that, really. Just lower the prices that Canadians pay for gas and milk at home - DUH!

I've been to that Costco and let me assure you that you can't get more red necked then that place.
Just saying.
Are you sure? More red necked then the random shit-smelling Idaho town I stopped by where some of the people I tried to talk to could only speak spanish? :p

Bottom line this has to do with the COSTCO being too small, rather than American's not liking Canadians or wanting them to shop in the U.S.

There are hundreds (thousands) of border area towns and cities that love cross border shoppers!

The Canadians should complain that gas and milk prices should be quoted in liters. That would really piss them off.

Canadians should want the measurement in LITRES, not LITERS. Learning to spell like a Canadian and not an American would piss them off even more.

Everything in canada is overpriced. Is the canadian market free?
I can't remember who on this board said this but they made a valid point that in Canada does have much higher min wage compared to the US. Remember every time min. wage went up, Tim hortons also increased their prices as well, that wasn't a coincidence. So things may be overpriced, but there is a reason for that.
