I saw on the news tonight they were speaking to Ford, McGuinty and the Police Chief about gun violence in our city. What is the answer? Who know!

hell yeah... fuck spending billions more on policing, millions on community/youth outreach programs, fuck all of that... why don't these fucks just deal with the real problem - guns

Sure one could say violence will always be there regardless of guns being banned or not, people will kill regardless of guns or not, but atleast they won't randomly shoot 20+ people while trying to get their target.

btw.. the guy who ended up shooting 20+ people must have the worst target. If I could have it my way, I'd catch him, tie him up on live tv, let the world know how bad he is with targets, and slice him off inch by inch... send a message out to future perpetrators, that they could be next.

He wasn't a thug though... Not sure what in that article even brought you to that conclusion... And not sure how you can say good riddance to people dying for any reason especially when you don't have a full understanding of the circumstances or what a person has been through that put them into a lifestyle etc. Regardless of what people get caught up in, or are surrounded by etc, they are still somebody's child, sibling, friend, parent etc. I'm sure if you had a family member that got themself into a dangerous lifestyle or wasn't fortunate enough to grow up sheltered from things like gun violence you would want to help them turn their life around, or overcome obstacles and move to a better area, not get killed. But when it's a stranger you're happy about a life being taken... Our society is so sad.
Why feel sorry for them. They would not hesitate to point the gun at you if you were their target or not!

no one deserves to be shot and killed... but nor do they get any sympathy from me. Some are grown 30yr old men, not 12 yr old kids who only has half a brain. I mean they are mentally capable of leaving all this crap behind and leading a clean life if only they choose to... There are waay too many resources and help available to start a clean slate, regardless of what they've been exposed to. No one's really pointing a gun at them 24/7 and making them live the thug life you know. I mean, tons of kids grow up watching violence filled movies, tons grow up in low income families, tons have a hard childhood, but most choose to lead a different path and better their situation like most hard working citizens.

I have a hard time believing he was just an innocent bystander who happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time and got shot. What was he doing in the back of a public school yar at 1am or so in the morning?

So how do you know this victim didn't have a 9-5? And wasn't making an effort to move away from the area and lead a better life? You're assuming he involved himself and that's why he got shot... Smh. I guess every shooting victim didn't lead a clean life or try to? You get shot, you're at fault. Interesting perspective.... Smh.

Both of you missed my comment that he wasn't a thug but like I said, carry on with the ignorance.
9-5?

I have a hard time believing he was just an innocent bystander who happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time and got shot. What was he doing in the back of a public school yard at 1am or so in the morning? People with a 9-5 job would be in bed at that hour, let alone even going to a school yard after sunset.

Out of curiousity, what are these many resources?

I heard we're on a run rate to have 52 murders in Toronto this year. Doesn't seem that bad to me. Banning hand guns is like banning drugs. Or prohibition on alcohol. Seriously. Does any rational human being think banning hand guns is going to change anything ????? For Christ sakes. They can't even stop people from using they're cell phones while driving.

You want to cut down on crime. Legalize drugs of all kinds. Create a robust economy where people and particularly youth have an opportunity to thrive and prosper. Rather than what they have today. Which is very little hope and too much time on they're hands.

BS
