Not one of the 200 people at the house party, where gunfire erupted and a lot of people were shot or woun on Danzig street were innocent. Not one. At that house party where gunfire erupted and a lot of people were shot, there were no innocent bystanders. Every single one of those people is complicit. Not one of them was innocent.

Now, I am not saying that they were guilty of crimes under the criminal code of Canada. I'm not saying that.

I am saying they are all complicit in a culture of violence. They tolerated in their midst people who carry guns. They participated in a culture that glorified it. They allowed the violent, gang criminal element into their life, into their homes, accepted them as friends. They played the music. They dressed the part. They got shot at.

No gun toting hoodlum would be welcome at any house party I had. If someone like that showed up, he would be asked to leave. If he did not leave, the police would be called to escort him out of there. I simply would not tolerate that sort of person in my presence. But the people on Danzig did.

None of them are innocent. They're all part of a culture that glorifies and tolerates violence, and some of them paid a steep price for it.

The 14 year voluntarily chose to be there. Not innocent. You might have a case with the baby--but the baby's mother was definitely complicit.

LOL! I'm sure a gun toting thug would obey your orders and leave - The only leaving he would do is to leave you in a body bag.

In other more important news, American Hoggers has a new season coming up!

I would ask him politely to leave. If he gave me any attitude, I wouldn't fight with him about it. I'd just go call the police, and have him removed. It's just not possible that I would ever tolerate a person like that in my home. No decent person would. Anyone who would, anyone who associated with that sort of trash, anyone who participated in that culture of violence, is complicit. None of them were innocent. They all chose to be there and to participate in it.

Because, you know, each and every person there would be able to instantly identify who the gangbangers with guns are. Each and every one of them. No exceptions!

Nope, but I would kick out anyone who looked like they might be one. There is a certain style of dress and a certain attitude that simply would not be welcome in my home. Period.

And no, it's not skin colour, it's definitely dress, attitude, manner of speech.

I guess anyone wearing a hoodie in the heat we've been having would look suspicious ;)

Yeah because the hoodie is the only way you could ever recognize that someone participates in that losing culture.

Would that iclude the 23 year old from ajax who spent time as a councillor in a youth intervention program.......the ones meant to supply role-models? The one who was actually trying to make a difference?

As I stated in a couple of other threads. All the gang members who were picked up after the "summer of the gun" in 2005 and subsiquent gang task force are now out on parole(or most at least).
These are the worst. The sociopaths. And now the cycle starts again.

Also need to give props to the preacher on the news today. Excellent statements.

My thoughts to the victims and their families.

Butler, it includes anyone and everyone who tolerated the presence of the gunmen and others like them. Its not the fault of the police or the city that those guys were tolerated there.

I think the Caribbean community should think very carefully before they have another community event. Personally, I think they should consider cancelling Caribana this year. It is just too dangerous and the chances of another violent incident are too high. It should be suspended for one year. I will be staying well clear of it. It's too bad that a community that has so many warm and nice people also has such violent members place such a low value on human life. People in that community know who did this, chances are, out of 200 people, someone took pictures..chances are there were about 270 cameras at that event...
