Flip. Flop.
Just like Mitt Romney.
Just know, that she was for building subways before was against it before she was for it again.

What happened to her reasoning to vote down the Sheppard subway that the plan wasn't fully funded? And now she's supporting a plan that's even less funded??!

It's easy to have a 'plan.....

When you Raise taxes, and project out 30 years.

She has made no allowances for inflation in the 30 billion.

The 30 billion becomes 90 billion by the end.......

And the 180 tax hike....gets hiked to 700 a year by the end.

Sorta like the health premium on our income tax!

Apparently he's not a good mayor and no one likes him, yet he was voted in as mayor!
The first part of your sentence is the present, the last part is the past. People thought he'd be a good mayor so they voted for him, but now after being in office for over 2 years they know better.

Isn't this a prerequisite when someone is preparing to run for office? It's standard political BS to flip flop and then deny, deny, deny.

I get around.
Today's Sun is outraged too over Stintz' taxaholic attitude. I will admit to enjoying the Conservative vs. Conservative conflict.

However everyone who relies on the TTC already pays $130/month for a Metropass so I doubt actual riders are going to complain about this $180 annual tax. This is hilarous:

Councillor Giorgio Mammoliti called Stintz’s tax “a war on the suburbs.”
Of course everything he doesn't like is a War. I wonder what he'd call an actual war LOL.

Do we need subways, LRTs, streetcars, buses and roads? Everyone agrees we do. Did we have a plan to get any of them built? Lots of them over the years. So why is this plan better than the last one? Because the last one was Transit City, and the Mayor tore that plan up. What was his replacement plan? Ask him; it never arrived, not even as lines on paper. All it ever amounted to was empty promises that a subway would magically appear on Sheppard and the trolley cars on Eg would be buried without anyone paying for it. Sorta like growing up with a trust fund. Not to be judgmental, but there's gotta be a reason Doug got the label factory gig and Rob went into the other family biz.

At least these two Councillors realize someone has to do the work of making transit happen. And more to the point, it has to be paid for. We can get it without gravy, if we elect people smart enough, but the lunch is never free.

180 per year for every household in the GTA...sounds like funding to me!...and worth it if it goes thru.
$180 based on the house price of less than $400,000. Most will be paying double that or more. Businesses will also be paying.

The plan will still be underfunded.

Calculations were made using todays buying power for the dollar. 30 years ago you could ride the rocket for 25 cents, and 30 years from now it will be $15 a ticket. Do the math and see that the 30 billion deal will likely cost about $120 billion.

It is something at least to consider but with more realistic values needed.
