Kids today.....

So I was pulling out of a parking lot and I could see a crowd of teens (white skaters if it matters to anyone). Two were face to face talking and a few were standing back with phones/cameras filiming what was going on.

Not liking what I saw I did a u turn back into the lot.

By that point the one kids who appeared to be out number was backing away and walking to a bus stop where there were a bunch of adults.

The aggressors were huddled in a circle watching their video.

Anyways, I sat in my car and watched the kid get onto a bus.

Figured that was the end of it for now.

Now I now this is nothing new. But the part that blew my mind was all the hangers on who were recording the incident and then replaying it. What is that about?

Edit: it appears that I may not have been clear enough...... basically it looked like a kid was being bullied by a group of kids, one of them taking the lead and two or three filming and the rest stanging by. Hey maybe the outnumber kid was a douchebag I don't know but it just made me uncomfortable about driving away and doing nothing..... luckily the kid got away without incident.

I just think it's sad that they felt the need to film and then gather around to watch the replay.

I was bullied for 3 years in highschool.Props to growth and hitting the gym.When i went home the bullying stopped for the day....i could get away from it......for 16 hours a day i was not really around it and could breathe.Today, kids who are bullied have it everywhere.....bullies post their deeds on youtube......on facebook......it's constantly there and never forgotten.I can say with a straight face....if i lived today as a kid i would a).Killed myself....b). I have you'll seen some of the recent movies that have come out in the past few years. Chronicle, Paranormal Activity, Project X, etc..........all camrecorded movies.
With MTV, Paris Hilton, Kardashian, Real World..........reality tv.
Plus, youtube site and other uploadable site with home made videos. It's their fad of their generation.

It looked like the kid was about to get beat up while other kids were filming so I doubled back in my car. Luckly this was happening by the drive thru and other cars were coming up.

Anyways, it just looked like a bad scene was about to happen. Luckily it didn't.

I know it makes the story a lot less interesting but just the idea that your buddy is bullying someone so you and your friends pull out your cameras to film it and seconds later gather round to watch the replay is sick (and not in the good conotation of the word sick).

I saw it develop as I was driving by and continued watching in the rear view. I had to think for a minute about do I drive away or do a u turn. I just felt bad for the outnumbered kid and decided to go back. Given their numbers (6 to 8) and they all had skateboards I could probably only call the cops and yell at the kids but I figured if that kid got the shit kicked out of him and I drove away I couldn't deal with that.

it was a thoughtful thing to have done on your part. more people should demonstrate such concern

Glad you turned around. You did the right thing. Bullies are at heart cowards. Especially the pack kind. Few yours ago I was walking by the Royal ALex late coming from work. Saw 6 fuys jump a guy( coming from a club). Ran over and started throwing bodys off. 2 others saw what I was doing and helped. The 6 ran off even though we were outnumbered still. I managed to get a few good shots in at least. The guy on the ground had turtled but fortunately was ok.

As much as it scared me to to do it I had to.

Kids are to blame,but so are the useless parents who turn the other cheek and to chickenshit to discpline thier kids.I am sure their attitude at home is the same as with their spineless buddies.
