I get around.
Tried a free trial and I've found it to be boring I didn't die once till level 10 and fighting consists of just spamming left and right click on the mouse.

There was no tension or concern that I was going to die.

There was no feeling of skill.

If I continue to play it will only be to be social with some of my friends but other than that I see no reason to play this game.
Yeah I played through the beta a couple of times and found it to be disappointing because the 'gameplay' is all about leveling up and getting new toys; there is absolutely no tactical thinking involved and only two game modes: battle the enemies, and upgrade equipment in town. No CTF against another team or anything like that.
Run into an area, trigger the bad guys, click click click until they're all beaten. They never try to outflank you, there are no surprises, not much suspense, and no skill or aiming involved.
While the graphics have improved, and the WD has some wild spells to cast, the AI for the baddies seems no better than in the original game that came out in 1996.

I could see joining friends and using voice chat for some fun comments and joking around, and find it really disappointing that after 10 years of development and only 4 people max in a session, the game doesn't even include that feature.

And my other complaint: it would have been better for the game to be released in the winter; there's too much to do outdoors in the summer rather than sitting at home plugging away at leveling up for hours at a time. Maybe I'll get into it in October or November when the days are shorter and the temperature has dropped. OTOH there's not much on tv in the evenings but reruns. :)

Anyone got a good skill set play for witch doctor?
I am currently using
Firebomb, grasp of the dead, soul harvest, gargantuan, acid rain,
I don't how effective they are at higher levels but the Zombie Dogs are so much fun I'd have to include them in any WD build!

I'm on Act 2 at Inferno difficulty with my demon hunter now. It is HARD. I'm sitting at 48k HP with ~150 resist to all. Still getting 1-shot by stuff. I have to re-gear to all damage stuff now..

It started getting hard on Hell difficulty, which is the 2nd hardest. Had to choose the right skills so I could actually survive.

What's so great about this game? I've played Diablo 2 and I thought it was boring, repeating the same levels over and over again just to collect special weapons and selling it off. Buying upgrades. So one dimensional.

Anybody getting Error 3007? I been getting it especially if I play in the morning. I can get back in, but after playing for a few mins or so, it gives me that error and kicks me out.

Yeah, normal difficulty is for casual gamers who just want to breeze through enemies. Try hell or inferno and then say skill choice and tactics don't come into play. I'll agree that the AI isn't much, but the game makes up for it in other ways.

The general direction of the levels were the same, but the dungeons, maps and enemies are mostly randomized to give a unique experience everytime you play. And yes, some would argue that the goal of diablo games isn't to actually beat the game, but to accumulate the best gear you can...then show it off. It's almost like gambling, since loot is randomized. The potential reward is the driving factor in D2 and D3.

Well ive waited to see whats going on with this game....it seems the whole system is to make it very gear and rune word dependent so u have to grind and use the AH, and thats where blizzard makes more money. So all u doing is clickn through four levels of slot machine and blizzard charging a rake. Without pvp this game seems pretty wow grindfest and not fun. Even the bosses sound one dimensional.

No more rune words. No more boss runs. Its about playing ingame. Exploring everything. All the De power gamers are whining missing there enigmas and ctas. And after less than a week! They expected to own it quickly because they had it down after 10 years. Its a new game. New rules.
Personally I don't miss the boredom of boss runs
Hated the spam bots. No more of that!
No more cheats bots hacks. You have to play!
I've been having a great time. Not worried about getting to inferno diablo yet. Just finished normal with one character. Doing a second. Then I'll go back and do nightmare with the first.
I guess its because I don't seek validation or a sense of success from a bunch of pixels. I play to relax and have fun!

Just saw it was the fastest pc game sold in history. 3.6 million copies along withanother 1.1 with WOW renewals in the first 24 hrs. 6.3 million total. And everyone tried to log in at the same time. No wonder there were some issues.

I had to call 8 Electronic Boutique stores this Sunday, before I could find a copy. Insane.

Its a really good game, just finished the campaign on normal mode... I love the storyline and gameplay!

You can just download directly from blizzard and pay online. I know that doesn't help you but maybe others who are having trouble finding a copy.

Well I'm still plugging away on normal with a witch doctor now. Damn fun character. Good comedy on this one. I keep finding all kinds of mini quests and events. This new version is definitely not just about the end game. A lot of exp and items come from exploration. Loving it. Just loving it.

I finally got into act 2 inferno. Friggin insane. Even with 45k life for a witch doctor is not close to enough. 3-4 = KO for me, sometimes 1 hit KO from bosses.

I finally made hell with my sorc. Have to make use of the action house. Farming gold right now so I can get a kickass weapon and upgrade my other stuff. Damn those 4 pack elite groups are tough! If they have vampiric and that fire chain mod and are fast movers its over. Very challenging. Really enjoying it. I can't imagine how bad inferno is but from the online comments its going to be wow.

Act 1 is still ok, but Act 2 is a different world. It's actually better to play solo than with a team. You will soon find out what I mean. I got 30k+ life on my WD with 400+ resistance on each element, and I still get KO in 2 hits.

Best advice for you, run, fire, and don't get hit.

I actually had around 40+ k before, but I switch some gears. I thought adding resistance would help, but it didn't. From what I heard, its better to get higher DPS or damage, attack speed, as well as critical damage. You wanna be able to kill as fast as you can.

Having some walking speed would help too. Some players only have like 15k-25 k life in inferno, but they do amazing damage like around 60-90 k dps.

Just reached act 2 inferno with my wizard and I think Im about to just call it quits.
I cant make it through the first chasm without being 1 shot.
I simply dont have time to farm gold to buy better equipment... and I'm certainly not using real money to buy equipment.
It was a fun ride while it lasted but I'll just sit tight and wait for Borderlands 2 for my next addicting chest-popping adventure.

I'll be very interested to see how this game is faring 6 months from now and whether or not more first time players like myself will stay on board or move on.
