LOL. I think the 'driving like Charlie Sheen' explanation is more plausible.Would you believe you are just too sexy and I was afraid LL would get jealous and maroon you on a sand bar with only sand crabs for company?

That is also a possibilityLOL. I think the 'driving like Charlie Sheen' explanation is more plausible.
Close this thread already. This Terbie still has not responded but then again it teaches us all a lesson.
Does LL have chidren? Grandchildren?I agree. I am trying to connect with one of the better universities and do some remote post graduate work on geriatrics. It could come in very handy
Once I have the access to the internet working I will be getting several dozen books forwarded into our library.
He has a daughter, 31. She calls me mom. One Grandson. He is a darling. They want us to fly up for Easter, so we probably will. They are going to visit us as often as possible. I am officially a "nice step mother and grandmother".Does LL have chidren? Grandchildren?
Just wondering what your relationship is like with them and whether they accept their Dad's new marriage.
Do the Sat Techs do overnights?Do you know the Sat techs get paid more per hour than most SPs in Toronto? We still have the radio and hand held sat phones, but that is not the same. Why take risks when it will be fixed in a few days. going through our movie but they have killed the power. I am bored! No LL, no movies, and I do not want to go shopping alone.
They put in 12 hr shifts with lots of overtime, and have decided some of the hardware is defective. It arrives Tuesday.Do the Sat Techs do overnights?
I know. I am just feeling a little trapped and helpless.Unless you have a deadline somewhere, a few days waiting doesn't seem too bad for a clean bill of health on the sat
and your point is?Bored already?!? You are HIGH maintenance!
We have a huge library of books and movies and music. All on hard drives. The main circuit breaker is turned off most of the time while they work. So no books, movies etc. So far I do not have that many kitchen gadgets. Right now with power issues, I just had to use some freeze dried things.Don't you have a library of books or something on that expedition trawler(?!?) (WOW, by the way)
Bone up on sous vide cooking if you haven't already done so (Keller's book is really good, but plenty of sources on the web too). The first time I sous-vide an egg properly was pretty memorable! Get a vacuum chamber sealer and an immersion circulator to add to the collection of gadets you have on board wait, you probably already have those, don't you?
Think of it as a long weekend. Oh wait, you're retired. It's always long weekendThey put in 12 hr shifts with lots of overtime, and have decided some of the hardware is defective. It arrives Tuesday.
LL should hire MF-2 to go shopping with you. I'd do it myself but you probably don't need hundreds of bikinis.I know. I am just feeling a little trapped and helpless.
High maintenance women usually look fantastic (and know it), are a challenge (not everyone likes a conversational pushover), and are frequently 'girly girls' who need attention and protection, which makes us guys feel all manly and stuff.and your point is?
This may seem obvious but why don't you copy some movies and books to your laptop next time you have power back? That'd be better than nothing...We have a huge library of books and movies and music. All on hard drives. The main circuit breaker is turned off most of the time while they work. So no books, movies etc.
Freeze dried? Are you feeding astronauts? So far I do not have that many kitchen gadgets. Right now with power issues, I just had to use some freeze dried things.
Just don't get botulism (a real possibility with sous-vide if one isn't careful! but the results are worth it)Thanks for the tip on sous-vid, I will investigate
I'm looking forward to seeing you post from the middle of the atlantic.FYI I am using my lap top and WiFi today
Bad idea. I'm a really grouchy shopper.LL should hire MF-2 to go shopping with you.
What? What about when you accompany a woman who is intent on trying-on nice looking things? Isn't it fun to get tackled in the change room?Bad idea. I'm a really grouchy shopper.
I like to go in, buy what I need ASAP, and leave. If it takes more than a few minutes, I get ornery.
I'll suffer through it -- but I'm still grouchy. What? What about when you accompany a woman who is intent on trying-on nice looking things?
At my age, that's not a common occurrence.Isn't it fun to get tackled in the change room?
The secret in getting a man to enjoying shopping is to randomly pull him into the change room. If it is too small to pull him in, pull an arm in and use his hand to make him know he is wanted. Neither works well with saloon doors.I'll suffer through it -- but I'm still grouchy.
At my age, that's not a common occurrence.
Omg I think I figured out who she is by looking at your past forum posts. If it is who I think it is, then let me just say: I know she is young and sweet and sexy and provides great service and all that (no doubt about that), but I can see how you might be misconstrued. If it is the same person we're talking about I've seen her too, and I can definitely see why you're feeling the way you do. She's very sweet by nature, its hard not to feel the same when around her, but I think it's just in her personality. I wouldn't be surprised if there are others who feel the same way about her to other degrees though. That being said it might be possible there's something more for you, but maybe not. I don't know what to tell you. Listen to other people's advice and play it cool. Good luck.
Did I mention always wear a short skirt, and no panties when shopping for shoes and boots?I'll suffer through it -- but I'm still grouchy.

I was going to ask how an executive can live on a boat but you answered my question. Very nice. I don't think you 'drive' a boat though - ask Lord Loki if it's 'sail' or 'steer', etc.We live on a boat, and are seldom going to be at the same anchorage for more than a few days. I am learning to be a great cook, I even have my own kitchen. My garden will be a couple of pots just like in Mutiny on the Bounty. For now I have more to learn than I ever imagined was involved in driving a boat. After that I am going to join a distance learning program I have been planning on it for a while.
. I am not the wife of an executive. I am the wife of a man enjoying retirement. Different world. And I am enjoying life enormously. I am just getting used to not having many people to talk to. Since I was always a loaner it is rather nice but it does take getting used to.
What, me grouchy? To hell with that, I say let's go shopping.Did I mention always wear a short skirt, and no panties when shopping for shoes and boots?
For my birthday a client (ok LL :eyebrows: ) took me to a mall in Toronto (Square one) and told me to pick out anything I wanted. That was the most fun feeling I had ever had. Also difficult to pick. I did try on boots though. :thumb:What, me grouchy? To hell with that, I say let's go shopping.
