Another technique guys should use.

If you find a keeper (not as a wife or gf) but one hell of a fuck buddy slash temporary girlfriend down there, get her information and when you're back, write her every month and include $20 USD.

The next time, you're due to visit Cuba, let her know and all of your arrangements will be taken care of. You'll be staying at her place, fed by her, taken care of by her, etc.

Of course, don't be stupid and start thinking you're the only guy in her life.

Either you haven't been down for years, or haven't been down at all.

The former. I knew someone would provide a revised figure if they're a recent monger. So, what is it?
They don't use the U.S. currency anymore, that was the first giveaway. Secondly, guys usually send at least $100 or so to a girl if they are in an ongoing situation with them.

Things have changed in some ways, a lot of the girls have modern smart phones, BB, LG, touch screen phones worth several hundred dollars etc. I went to one girl's place last year, they had big flatscreen T.V., all the toys.

That $20 a month wouldn't go as far these days.

Interesting read lots of great tips. What are the chances of finding a nice hook up in Varadero or Holguin? Or even getting a bj from a maid:D

Friend of mine was there a few months ago.

He mentioned some new currency they give tourists. Is this what you're referring to?

Chances are good to get that from a maid (as I learned from this trip although I didn't indulge or pursue - my maid even told my friend that I was serious-minded, but she did like my tips). But maids can take things more to heart because they are civilians as opposed to pros or club girls, especially single, divorced mothers.

If you're at Varadero and you want local chicas, get a taxi to take you out to the next town called Matanzas (it means 'massacre' in Spanish), about 40 km from Varadero I believe. There's a club there that will guarantee hook-ups with local chicas if that's what you want. If you want non-locals or other tourists, stay in your resort at Varadero.

If anyone here for some reason gets sent to jail in Cuba
GPIDEAL can bail you out. just ask for his number :thumb:
Fat chance! My money is only for my chica! But I met a guy from B.C. that lives there most of the year, and who introduced me to an ex-military guy who's well connected. He can also get you real Cohibas. Chris is the Cdn guy's name. Sorta like a promoter. I will try to post his info link in case someone needs to get bailed out. It will cost ya though.

BTW, as others have correctly pointed out, and since I do have my 'future wife's' real ID and home address to write to her, what are the chances that sending $20 CDN or what have you, won't be intercepted or lost in the Cuban postal system? I wanted to send her a care package (not designer jewellry or clothes).

There are two currencies. The Cuban Nacional and the CUC (convertible cuban units). Roughly 24 Nacionals = 1 CUC (I was told 600 to 40 but exchange rates have changed). CUC is what tourists trade in and which buys most merchandise except Nacionals for locals will get them fresh vegetables and fruit at local markets. Be careful of scam artists who might help you with directions that may try to sell you a fictitious 3rd currency (or where they will get you a better rate than the Cuban exchange bank or Cadeca which can be found in public places and most hotels).

Here's a link above on the subject of currency exchange. That Cdn guy who lives there also uses the lowly Nacional or Cuban Peso to buy everyday staples and is cheaper for you but most tourists don't bother on short trips.

What about an international money order in CDN $ made out to her real name?

BTW, I doubt a club girl will wait for anyone to cook and clean for them. That's probably a non-pro who might let you schack up with her.

I just didn't really know how to proceed with the maid with out being a jackass but bj or a quicky would be nice without having to go anywhere. I rememeber last year this young security guard (19) invited me to party/club scene. How safe is it to go off with him? I bet he could of gotten me liad for a decent price.

Btw, how much do you tip if you dont mind me asking? I usually leave a phew small gifts with a phew pesos.

Why so many ladies? Is the male/female ratio unbalanced in that country?
It's not that there more women then men. It's that you notice them more. You're talking about a country that has extreme poverty and for a lot of women prostitution is there only way of making a living. And for that reason they're all over the tourist's.
When I went (A while back) I stayed clear from the women (STD's). That however didn't stop my friend from hooking up with a chick. He ended up going back to her place. And to his surprise, her husband was there. And he was totally fine with my friend sleeping with her. The following morning the husband made everyone breakfast. How's that for fucked up!

As far as Cuba as a destination... AMAZING!!!! Don't waste your money on Mexico, Dominican or any other all inclusive destination. You'll save shit loads of money and you'll have a way better time IMHO. Super friendly people, women are all over you, great culture, pretty good scuba diving, amazing night life. You name it. Speaking of the night life. I went to this club that was in an actual cave. Very cool! I don't know how save it was but I lived to tell the tail.

That would be awkward, no matter how much they pretend it is ok, most times they aren't so honest about it. They usually pretend the husband or boyfriend is a relative or friend. Many tourists will think the girl is only dating them, while in reality they are supporting their families through prostitution disguised as dating. The husband/boyfriend accepts that she has to have sex with foreigners for cash, but if she fools around with another local guy then the fighting starts.

Was that club in a cave in Guardalavaca? And was that a Freudian slip ? :)

I wouldn't trust the mail system with valuables or cash. However, if it is small and light, I could deliver it to her next week if you have her phone number.

Cash is King or a direct electronic $ transfer. Nothing else works.

Money orders and cheques are not trusted since Cuban banks fear it might be issued from a USA bank and it'll be useless due to the embargo.

Lol. You're putting me to the test. Am I gonna see a review later?

Funny thing, I had Rocco Siffredi sex on my 1st trip with this hot chica below (oops, she insisted I call her my Novia) and only saw her after for the rest of my trip after she won out over the previous gals I saw. Now I'm thinking of her more but I never tried calling her cuz I was planning on having variety. She was one of the best looking, sexiest, smartest, smoothest, and pornographic women combined with an overrall GFE that I've ever had. Our first romp was a highlight of my life (believe it or not, she sorta made me chase her - I called her # for a couple of days before we connected - then wined & dined her 1st). She never asked for a rate but there was no way I was going to 'help' her with less than the last girl. My friends joked that they couldn't touch her cuz she was at least a 100 CUC gal, but I never spent what she claims some architect from Italy 'assisted' her (an obscene amount perhaps even by our standards, if one could believe her).

Really? I had no problem using my TD Visa at Don Cangrejos seafood restaurant. Have you ever wired money?
