I have a friend of a friend who owns a cornerstore, and we had a chat this morning about this story concerning the Miami Heat showing solidarity by going"Hoodie".While he said he hated what happened to the child he said it was an awful message to send. When he told me why i agreed with him.can you guess why he hated the stance?

Have no idea why your friend hated the stance. Seems like a classy move by the Heat players to me.

To criticize people for the way they dress is rediculous.

While I am not a fan of saggy jeans, oversized clothes, and the like, I don't judge the person for wearing them.
It's just not my style, it don't think it's an attractive look.

No, the hoodie doesn't excuse what Zimmerman did, if he is in fact, guilty.

But going around looking like the grim reaper isn't exactly going to comfort strangers around you.

And, white guys wearing hoodies look just as suspicious. The Klan, a fraternity prank, etc.

Like Geraldo said, when people hold up a convenience store, they're usually wearing hoodies. Maybe that's why the OP's friend doesn't like it.

Any documentation to support that claim?

Do you think women who dress in a certain way, deserved to be raped?
That is an unfair comparison

There are occasions where someone has used a hoodie to hide their identity while commiting a crime. Store owners are often uncomfortable when hooded customers enter the store because there is a history there. Unfortunately the hoodie causes some people to fear for their safety.

A woman should be able to dress in any manner she desires. The way a woman dresses does not cause someone to fear for their safety.

if i have the hood up when i wear my hoodie, when i enter a store i put it down just to try and make the store owner less nervous as i figure a 6 foot tall 268 pound guy with a covered face might make someone nervous.

I was reading the Wikipedia entry and whatever happened, the laws in Florida are fucked up. Zimmerman claimed his right to self-defense and the police could not disprove it so he walks free and clear. That sounds pretty fucked up to me. At least do a full investigation. Fuck, anybody could claim self-defense if there's only two people involved and if the claimant is lucky enough to be the one left standing then he's free and clear.

Sounds bush league to me. But hey, that's Florida.

It was raining so the 17 year old kid put his hoodie up. He was drinking Iced Tea and eating Skittles candy. Sounds like a real bad boy.

There is no way Zimmerman should be able to walk away from this.

In this case, it doesn't matter. Perception is key.

In theory, you should be able to walk down the street wearing an Easter bunny suit, and have society totally ignore you. But you probably will get some reaction.

this is a super ignorant stance that that fool geraldo took on fox news. This is exactly like blaming rape victims for dressing like "sluts"
there are Millions Men women boys and girls who own hoodies and dont do any crimes. it would even be safe to say that they are the vast majority.

That clown basically said that Minorities should go out of their way so that others dont feel uncomfortable. Because hoodies will get blacks shot. no black people in Suits get shot. oh wait

fuck you geraldo. and your fucking moustache

Raped, no.

However a girl in a hoodie is "hurtin for a squirtin"*. Just not by me, sadly. Standards, the curse of my existence.

Hoodies and baseball caps, two things that are very hot on chicks.

* to use a line from the movie 40 year old virgin.

Tell you what. On your next job interview, wear a hoodie. See how it goes.
How did a job interview get introduced into the discussion?
