Why the big knock on The Sun? They carved out their niche; they are what they are. They do have some good columnists, especially Sue Levy who's great at holding council's feet to the fire. Mind you they also have some columnists who are right wing kooks. But hey, they have a good sports section and the Sunshine girl.
I make a point of reading The Star and Sun every day, along with the Globe or Post. It's interesting to see the different slant on reporting, especially how so far left the Star can be versus how far right the Sun can be ... funny since they're both considered 'stars' are they not?

Because what they do is not "news". It is just a rag used to sell advertising space. To compare the Sun to news is like comparing mcdonalds hamburgers to Barbarian steakhouse. They only put right wing diatribes in their pages to attract advertising. They don't give a shit about fair reporting or a balanced story, they have no reason to.

that's where I found the MPs before i found terb.
+1, and a kick ass sports section..i feel guilty buying it at work, but i'm in alotta sports pools/betting and the STAR sucks for stats...otherwise i wouldn't touch the SUN...and btw the kookiest of the right wingers , Ezra Levant is a columnist there..should tell you alot about the integrity of the newspaper/birdhouse toilet

To read the sports section in Timmy's - no worse than reading the Star. What's with this Draper guy's font? Is he old and have trouble seeing?

That tactic never, ever works.

Attempting to divert focus from the original topic does not mean the original topic doesn't exist.

You can compare the Sun to whatever media outlet you wish to. The fact remains that what Jack Burton said is dead on the $.

By only reading one news source you are limiting your information. Just because a person my not agree with the "slant" of an article doesn't mean there may not be valuble information contained within. I read several sources everyday and be assimilating all the facts contained can come to my own conclusions. Theopinions of the writers are filler. A person can better understand and argue there opinion if they understand the other side of the arguement. I usually find the truth is somewhere in the middle.

Not quite on the topic, but on a related note, what about SUN TV News? What a load of crap that is. No news, just a forum for their right wing kooks to spew their crap on.

Just curious who did the rankings. I would be shocked if any Canadian newspaper's sport section ranked top 10 in North America. Think of NY Post, NY Daily News, NY Times, USA Today, Boston Herald, etc., etc.. Who ranked the Sun in the Top 10 and what criteria were utilized?
