Had an HP camera years ago that did that. It was my first digital camera and didn't know much about them. Some of the cameras suck the hell out of batteries....
My Duracell AAA rechargeables are rated 1,000 mAh which are the highest I could find. How about non-chargeables like alkaline or lithium? If I recall 600 to 700 hundred would be the low end for AAA and 1200 mAh the high end and double the life.
I needed a prop. Li-On battery for a Fuji camera. It was around $70 at Henry's in Toronto. so I went online and found it for under $20.The only thing I find with proprietary batteries is that not everyplace has them, only specialty places. If you camera battery craps out on holiday, at the cottage, the museum, or St Louis de Haha PQ, how do you replace it?
For cameras Lithium batteries have better life. Rechargeable should last you longer than 20 pictures. Does your flash go off all the time? If so just use it when needed. How old are the batteries? Do they need to be replaced? One SLR I have has four AA's and another has 6AAs. I certainly get ore than 20 pictures form a set, more in the range of 200.

Must be a Sears Die-Hard....:thumb:I experienced the same problem. I hooked up my camera to a car battery. So far it has lasted just over 4 years and counting.
