Does anyone use Chatr? what is the reception like? I am currently with Rogers and my bills are way to high, Rogers says that I have the cheapest plan, I pay in between $60-$70 a month now with no data plan. A plan I looked at with Chatr would be $39.50 per month. For the people who are with Chatr are you happy with them or would you want to go somewhere else?

Chatr are Rogers so I imagine the service would be identical.

Honestly... what is it you are on plan wise with Rogers? I have unlimited incoming/outgoing. Standard data plan (500mb which is great with a blackberry but an iPhone would devour it). Additional 10$/month for Unlimited Can. Long Distance (no roming ever in Canada) and 10$/month for US LD. Works out to 100$ a month and I have yet to find another company with equal coverage, and that won't cap me on calls. Apparently I can somehow talk a lot. I think my highest number of minutes was about 5600. *blush* I should also mention I have perks with this... I have something called SpinVox (spins voicemail to text), my data plan applies to when I am stateside, etc.

Try calling and asking for customer RETENTION. Think... 3 years with 20-30% off...

Holy crap, 60 bones a month and no data. I'd go out on a limb and say ur gettin hosed big time. I have been with Wind for 2 years now and my bill is never over $25.+tax a month and that is with 24/7 talk and unlimited tex'n. A friend of mine is with Chatr and she loves it. She said she uses her iphone with them and reception is good. She pays $35. a month I think no contract.

Before I was with Wind I was in a Fido 3yr contract and I hated it. They would call and tex me 5 times a day if I was a day late to pay the $50. bill, talk about harassment. They once sent me 6 tex's in one day telling me that I need to pay them, wtf?

After my contract was done I left them and I'll never, ever go back. Fido are goons if you owe them $50. cheap bastards.

If you don't travel out of the city much, Wind and Mobilicity are great deals. Very low all inclusive monthly plans, some include Canadian or North American long distance and $10 for unlimited data. With Mobilicity, plans start at about $25 a month.

You're being hosed big time. I know people paying around $57 total before taxes with some form of data package.

Sadly, I've been told that Rogers retention is extremely restrictive currently. You need to research the competition, get some offers and call retention. Be polite, be savvy and be persistent.

Chatr is owned and operated by Rogers, they are a brand created by Rogers to compete against Wind Public Mobile and the like. Chatr is positioned within Rogers marketing below Fido (also owned by Rogers).

If you want true value go with one of the true new guys Moblicity, Wind or Public Mobile

I was with Bell in 2008 and the reception was terrible, I have heard nothing but terrible things about wind and mobilicity.
