None of those guys were the lead singers.

I imagine there are a few others, I'd be curious if anyone can name some more.

Elvin Bishop is another one, he had Mickey Thomas on vocals for "Fooled Around And Fell In Love". He later sang "We Built This City" for Starship.

Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes - Teddy Pendergrass was lead singer for most of their early 70's top 40 hits, after originally joining the band as a replacement drummer.

the only one I can think of that hasn't been mentioned and might qualify is Kool and the Gang.."Kool" was the bassist Robert Bell..
